What a bunch of Bull...Like, all the Obama Courants pieces about Democrap Politics...How about an article examining how Michele Obamas salry went up by over $200,000.00 AFTER Barry procurred funding for the hospital she was working at...You know, a meat and potatoes story about "Chicago Style Politics" of how the money trickles up when a politician greases the wheel...Then you could publish a copy of her
Thesis. You know which one I'm talking about? The one that praises Socialist ideals...Some role model! Do you think she's proud to be an American now?

This isn't a story about politics. If you want to comment on partisan matters, you should do so where it is pertinent and take your sour grapes elsewhere.

Michelle Obama is a woman that African-American girls can look up to. This is a community that for years has been destroying itself through negative sterotypes such as those given in rap music and African-American women in particular have suffered. Then there is the high rate of African-American men in prison which of course limits the chances for African-American women to marry into a stable relationship.

They now have a real role model to look up to and this country is better for it. Michelle Obama can be the woman who can help these women in particular reach their full potential.

Blagojevich, allegedly tried to sell Obamas Senate seat...Obama negotiated Hillarys Senate seat to go to Caroline Kennedy in exchange for Uncle Teds endorsement of his candidacy during the primaries...The Obamas, as you will continue to see, are liars, cunning backroom dealers, and have always had their fingers in the pie when it comes to personal enrichment....Show me another person, anywhere, who worked in Hospital Administration, who got a 200% raise for doing absolutely nothing, and I'll show you a person married to a Politician!

I think Michelles's a good role for any middle-class girl.

She's smart, she's gotten a good education and has two pretty daughters, plus she knows how to boss her husband around. Who could ask for anything more?

And she is a role model because? Sorry i guess i have missed the point. She does have a good education, but then again so do thousands of other women. She does have 2 daughters and is actually married to their father. Ok. I am not fond of her taste in clothing which means nothing. We are all entitled to our choices. However, she does have considerably more money available to dress well and have consultants help her on that. So, i am sorry. Can you please tell me specifically what makes her more of a role model than any other woman who stayed in school and married well.

Let us hope the black community as a whole finds a good role model with the Obama family. Lets hope they take note of: No gangster dress style, no profanity, ablility to complete a sentence proper english. A man who has a job. Parents who control and parent their children. A real dad not a sperm bank. Two blacks who completed school, Wow all kinds of good choice here for the community to follow but I suspect they will stay with their ganster rappers, pac-man jones and the like . The guy with the most bling will be the idiol in the hood.

Oh my goodness, you must be white. On the other hand, who cares what color you are? Or the Obamas, at this point?

What we have is two well-educated, articulate and confident adults going into the white house in January! And possibly honest ones!

Barack has so much more self-control than either GW or Senator McCain.

I know some people think Pat Fitzgerald is blowing off any attempts to investigate him, but I can't see PF doing that to any one - I mean, wouldn't that be a huge boost to his resume to be able to find dirt on a PRESIDENT-elect? On the other hand, finding it on GW Bush is like finding sand at a beach. heheheh (Sad, huh?)

Michelle is a more outstanding role model than Laura was, mostly because of her self-esteem, her poise and her brains.

Not trying to slam Laura, HONEST, but our present first lady is definitely not threatening to insecure men.

I can see how some men would find Michelle to be VERY intimidating. And it isn't the eyebrows, either.

Well... as far I can tell, she can manage a budget pretty well. I know a governor's wife who isn't handling her finances so competently.

She talks like a real person and frequently uses multi-syllabic words.

She came from a middle-class family and has never been divorced or had more than maybe speeding tickets on her record - although I have it on good authority that she drives more consersatively than I do.(Probably most of the population does, however.)

For the record, I'm not too fond of her wardrobe sometimes either, but what the heck.

Most of our president's wives were well-educated, but also came from the privileged class. I love the idea that a lady whose ancestors - some of them - were once slaves (Barack's weren't) could become one of the most influential women in America. That's pretty interesting to me.

Grow up, Henry, and don't misquote her. There are plenty of times when I have been embarrassed by our nation's failings.

There are inequities still needing to be addressed - and those are very embarrassing still. You know that's true.

Well, not too passive aggressive are we...Bring up skin color then discount it...Nice. Well, if you think a racist is a role model, well then, you must be black...Not that color matters, right?

Role model huh? Let's see a black woman who leveraged her way into white society through a white Ivy League education, who married a half-white male with high political ambitions in a predominately white country (not for long of course), works in a predominately white dominated university system and who will become the first black woman to be first lady. Is that what all black women will now aspire to? Just how many half black men with huge political ambitions are there in this country?

As far as I'm concerned she is nothing but another aspiring elitest who is using her husband to gain and hold on to political, financial and personal power. Is that what you want black women to aspire to?

The Obama's had the opportunity to truly be role models to everybody in this country and especially to black folks when they had the opportunity to enroll their kids in public school. They could have practically overnight transformed the Washington D.C. school district. But no, they chose one of the most expensive schools in D.C. at the tune of $50,000 per year.

Good luck to any woman, regardless of race, to achieve the level of Michelle Obama. If there's ever a person not to set the standard of achievement and behavior its Michelle Obama.
