C'mon Tribune! Get it right!
FALSE! A direct flight means there MAY BE a stop along the way )without a change in flight number) but it could also be a non-stop flight.

C'mon Chicago! Get it right!

Too bad Southwest is located in the profoundly geographically undesireable south-side/Midway. If they flew out of O'Hare {a real airport where one doesn't have to travel through wastelands...}; but, American and United have a lock[s] on ORD. Pity, but, I'll still fly out of ORD - as I simply can't conceptualize of venturing all the down to Midway and/or dealing the... possibilities such could entail.
South-side, Midway - yeah, right - neither are viable for those who either bath regularly, are employed and/or have something to lose. I can only imagine what a profound boondoggle Peotone would be if the grifting grafters like Jessie Jackson, Jr., et al, have their way.
Midway's bad enough, Peotone - don't make my cry, even the FAA won't certify it and none of the airlines will commit to either funds or service there.
Southwest, until you depart the pitt that is the south-side, you're missing the boat - so to speak.

Are you kidding? I live in the City and much prefer to fly out of Midway than out of O'Hare. Getting to Midway from downtown is faster (Orange Line or Cab) and cheaper (if via cab, obviously the same via CTA). Midway is much cleaner, much more modern, and it's much faster to get through. O'Hare makes me feel like I've been transported back to the 1970s.

Yes, I agree it would be nice if certain parts of the city were safer but take a cab and stop being a baby.

Wait until Midway is privatized.....so much for being cheaper than ORD (see what privitization has done for the Chicag Parking meters if you don't understand where I'm coming from).

Part of that agreement calls for the company to freeze the rates the airlines pay to use MDW for the next 6 years, so actual airfares charged by the carriers serving Midway are unlikely to go up for any reason other than general pricing trends. Other fees associated with using Midway, such as parking, are probably sure to go up

I should add that the actual privatization deal is in jeopardy, since the company is having trouble getting the financing it needs to complete the deal. The city has given them an extra 6 months to try and secure lending in order to get the deal done.

Too late, my girlfriend would have booked on SWA rather than United for an upcoming trip to LGA. Besides saving a couple of dollars and cheaper parking, also first checked bag free. United wasn't an issue for us until it became harder to nominate friends and family for Premier Associate status.
so, you want to give mileago status to someone who have not flown enough to earn it

SW has one gate at LGA- how will this work? I think they need at least 2 more gates.

http://www.jetradar.com/... is the only place I go to search flights now, after consistently finding them to find the best deals. They don't 'promote' any particular airline, but are totally transparent, plus they include the extra fees and taxes that you know you have to pay but many other 'comparison' sites leave off. This is helpful, as you can make a fair assessment of which is the best price.
