So let me get this straight.....this started in December, but he didnt get fired until February? Do these girls know each other? I would be interested to know why the second girl told, aside from knowing she shouldnt be getting it on with her teacher. A 15 yr old knows the difference betewwn right and wrong and while he took advantage of their youth, whose to say they werent the initiators? Before we start throwing stones, we need to look at the entire picture, and remember not all children are innocent.
I remember being a 15/16 yr old girl and I knew what to do to get what I wanted, and shame on you if you got in my way, or took it from me.....

Man imprisoned again for not telling sex partners he has HIV

March 28, 2008Recommend (18)

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.-- A paroled sex offender with a history of having sex with women who don't know he is HIV positive is off to prison again for the same offense.

Twenty-four-year-old Casey Yonts was sentenced to a decade behind bars after he pleaded guilty to two felony Madison County counts of criminal transmission of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

The charges stem from incidents involving Yonts' girlfriend and her sister.

Authorities have said the sisters, ages 19 and 26, were unaware Yonts was infected, and they have tested negative for the virus.

Investigators say Yonts had been living with his girlfriend and her two children since December.

Yonts served prison time on charges that he had sex in 2004 with a 15-year-old girl when he was HIV infected. Yonts was 21 at the time of that offense. AP

i went to high school with george and he was a really good guy and this is shocking....if he is guilty, then he should pay the price...BUT, lets not rush to judgement...let us wait and see if he is indeed guilty before we bash him...

I agree with jimw. Innocent until proven guilty.

An excellent teacher and coach at my kid's school was accused of inappropriate touching and hitting on female students. It started with one accusation. Over the years, the rumor spread and more and more students made similar accusations. One girl even claimed an affair with the guy. None of it was true. There was absolutely no proof. The poor guy didn't get fired, thankfully--and rightfully--but his reputation was shot. He stuck with the school for his pension. I don't know how a person can go to work every day under these circumstances. His coaching was constantly supervised and he wasn't allowed to be in a classroom without another adult staff member. That would have driven me to insanity, but this guy stayed strong. I admire him for it. As for the silly teenagers, I hope they apologize some day. They did it for attention and for the thrill and fantasy.(The teacher/coach is handsome and fit and looks much younger than his 50+ years.)

I know this guy personally, and have for a long time. He has always been leacherous around women, always making inappropriate comments, and I even know of affairs he had outside of his marriage!! I don't doubt for a second that he is guilty of this, whether the girls were flirting with him or not - he is the 46 year old ADULT and they are 15 year old KIDS - the same age as his daughter who goes to the school where this took place! It is just so sad for his kids and his wife who I hope finally sees him for what he is and stops paying his way as she has been doing for their entire marriage.

As a member of the Payton community, I will not argue that this incident is not tragic. I will not argue that the allegations are shocking. However, as someone who is witnessing the effects of these accusations on the families and others involved I cannot overemphasize the importance of avoiding the lynch-mob mentality. As a country, we are supposed to function under the premise of "Innocent until proven guilty." At this point there is no formal conviction, there is simply the accusation and the arrest. Despite many people dying to "string him up by his nuts" and such, I firmly believe that we attempt to be cautious in our judgment. Until the courts, which our society considers the place for finding truth, issue a statement and a decision there is technically no guilt. This is not to say that this did or did not happen. All I hope to convey, from the perspective of someone who belongs to the school community, is that rushing to judgment can only be detrimental. If the allegations are true then there is a course of action. We must all keep in mind that the things we write or say can never be truly retracted and for that reason I implore everyone who reads this story or has heard of it to exercise prudence.

What this man did was nasty. People like that should be put behind bars for the rest of their life. Sad to say but I know this sleezball personally and i will put my hand in the fire and say that he is guilty for all charges against him and way more. This man is a threat to society and he is harmful to young women of all ages. The state of Illinois must put him away for good and he needs to pay the price.

I too know this awful man personally and all I can say about him is that he's abominable. It will be no surprise if he's found guilty for harming these young ladies from Walter Payton High School. I don't care if these girls flirted with him or not, they are children of our society and as adults we need to protect them from MONSTERS like George Turner. This man needs to rot in jail for the rest of his life. I also find it ridiculous that his wife of seventeen years never noticed anything peculiar about this sick husband of hers. I'd also like to agree with the comment posted above by "CONCERNED" from Chicago, IL: I know for a fact that this barbarian had affairs outside of his marriage. He's a sick sick man and he needs to STOP mooching off of his wife. I hope she will realize it soon enough and notice the monster she has been living with for all of these years. This man needs to pay for his crimes ASAP. It's not fair that even if he's convicted for the crimes the most he'll get is 15 years in prison- a monster like him deserves life behind bars. He's a filthy man and I hope the state of Illinois notices this during his trial. Fifteen years will not do justice. Fifteen years will not stop the physical and emotional pain of all of his victims. Fifteen years will not stop the embarrassment all of his victims felt when they confessed. Fifteen years is not enough time behind bars for a monster of his caliber. This man is treacherous, nasty, filthy, awful, atrocious scum. He is a dangerous man and I hope that people will realize this.

I completely agree with you! How could this woman not know the monster she shared her bed with? What concerns me the most is whether he harmed his children during these years? I hope the proper precautions are taken and I hope he pays for all that he has done.

I'm a senior at Payton and a family friend of the Turners. What I've read in this forum is unequivocally disgusting. The last thing the family needs right now is to have people calling their father, whatever the allegations may entail, a "Monster", "beast", "sleezeball" and whatever other libelous venom that's been spewed. If you knew all of this for so long, why not speak up then. Everybody knows everything when the s*** hits the fan right?

Dallas raises a good point. When the shit hits the fan everyone knows everything.
This is the lynch-mob mentality we need to avoid. In fact, it's just a mob mentality. When a person is down we, as a society, do not turn to understanding or wait to burn them at the stake, we take the position of verbally destroying the person and tearing them apart.
I'm curious to see how many of these passionate readers will follow this story all the way through. Let's not just pull out our crosses and nails. I think we need to move past this point and realize these are allegations and that when the time comes to handle a conviction, we can handle the conviction. However, to start putting out information like I'm seeing in this forum perturbs me. If everyone was so aware of the events transpiring in this man's personal life and is close enough to the family to know, then why bring it out now?
I cannot emphasize enough that I am not trying to excuse anyone's actions. I simply want to remind us that these are accusations. We cannot afford to treat this like fact when we are unsure because it is impossible to take back the things we say. This man's reputation, even if proven innocent, is virtually destroyed. I beseech you all to treat these for what they are, allegations.
Allegation (noun)- a claim or assertion that someone has done something illegal or wrong, typically without proof.
Should these allegations become convictions we can begin to proceed with that as our perspective. In the mean time we would be jumping to conclusions.

It's not about people knowing everything when **** hits the fan. Those people who posted above are just providing details of how sick this man really is, hence is why they would NOT be surprised if he was guilty. The fact of the matter is that there are two young girls claiming that this trauma occurred in their lives. I think it's very brave of them to come out and report what they did to school/safety officials. Being a victim of a sex crime myself, I can only stress how embarrassing it is to tell others of the situation. Us victims feel responsible for the situation that took place, when in reality it is the coward who took advantage of us who is to blame for this catastrophe. Not only do the victims suffer embarrassment, but just imagine the physical and emotional burden they have to deal with for the rest of their lives. Also, these girls could have been threatened by this man hence is why they took a while to report him. All I want to reiterate is KUDOS to the young women for turning this animal in. I hope he gets in a lot of trouble for what he has done- He's sick!

what a disgusting piece of sh*t. i agree with the be logical please person and by the way prudence, in your definition of allegation, it says at the end "typically without proof" what more proof is a vibrator. A fifteen year old obviously cant get one on her own without some sort of pedophile buying it. This aint an allegation, its a conviction in the making

Ok, seriously, stop with the "it might not be the teacher's fault phase" this wasn't an "innocent seduction" and it was definitely not the students fault. This creep did not just touch or kiss a girl, he did way more. So stop comparing your worthless old high school stories to this traumatizing incident. Also, it was not just one student, but two, so the thought that they both initiated it and it wasn't at all the teachers fault is pure bull.

This man is an idiot! I can guarantee that many sex shops are under surveillance and if the state really wanted to find evidence all they have to do is go back to recordings. Not only that wouldn't his prints be all over the toy he purchased after he used it on his victim? Seriously....did he not think he would get caught? Hopefully he's convicted....what a sick, sick man!

While I have known George for years, I know his wife much better. She is an amazing lady and very strong. I have been around them for years. I have never seen an inappropriate act of any kind. If this did happen, he made a very bad choice, but I don't believe it was one sided. My gut tells me the first girl was a willing contributor (and yes... 15 year old girls have sex and many will do their best to attract a teacher... especially a coach that is as attractive as George.) The 2nd girl probably thought she wanted to play around, and when something happened, she felt bad and shifted 100% of the blame to Gorge and blew the whistle. Again... If he did this, he made a bad decision. Many of the previous posts I have read seem like they may have come from women George may have been involved with that are bitter that he chose his wife over them. George and his wife were married young. They have done a great job with their kids. I know I wouldn't want my wife in jail, so I fully expect her to defend him. Time will tell if they stay together, but I for one do not think he should do time for this. It's bad if it happened, but I don't think he is a creepy pedophile. I think he got sucked into this and lost his ablility to see right from wrong and started making decisions with the wrong part of his body. Someone might want to check with the parents of these girls... at lease the first one. I bet there is an interesting history there and most likely plenty of blame to go around.
Additionally, the reporting of this situation has been horrible. He has not been found guilty and for the Sun Times to put his picture on the front cover of their paper was ridiculous. Sensationalism at its worst.
