When Bill Clinton took office in 1993, global warming was a slow-moving environmental problem that was easy to ignore.

I expect that I did more work by the time I was 18 than you have done your whole life. Where do you get this stuff? I am not pissed off or spiteful, I have earned my way so to speak. I am retired comfortably by working hard and making good investments. I just don't like the haves to exploit those who have worked hard. I am very pleased with my accomplishments because Ii have not compromised my ethics by climbing over others. If that is how you got yours, I pity you. I worship neither capitalism nor socialism. They are just economic systems, and being so do not come near solving all the world's problems. I believe that whichever does the best job of handling a situation is the one we should apply.
(I have earned my way so to speak) In other words you had it given to you or you did abuse or break the law or someone else to get what you got.

It's obvious you consider yourself an exception to the Obama rule. That you are gifted with the ability to do things everyone else is incapable of. How very typical of the liberal mindset.
It is rather curious how most leftists on Topix claim to be "set" due to their own wise decision making.....yet now support policies and a vision that relies on government to make the decisions for all of us.

If it gets warmer in colder climates there's less energy
needed to heat up houses and people don't need to buy
heavy winter clothes, and hopefully no furs at all!
It's also nicer outside when warmer than colder,
ask anyone in Hawaii or Florida,
or ask someone in Alaska whose been to HI or FL
on vacation, ask if he had in mind to relocate to
Honolulu or Miami?
I'll bet he did!
Ask your neighbor in N.Y. Would he rather move to
Tampa Bay or Juno.......Alaska?
Go ahead.........ASK!
Ok.......ask yourself..........DUDE.......w hat did I say?

Typical of you, mudbuilt. I do not consider any such thing. BTW, I am proud to be liberal. Evidently you are the opposite of liberal. Liberal is synonymous with individual freedom. This includes concepts such as democracy and freedoms of thought, religion, etc. The opposite of this is therefore not conservative, as is popularly believed, but rather totalitarianism and intolerance. Conservative on the other hand means resistive to change or supporting slow change. It is easily possible to be both liberal and conservative at the same time. You need to open your mind, your horizons are too close.

Yes it was given to me for services rendered. In other words, I earned it! It is obvious that you have no concept of how that works.

It's what you get every time one encounters a liberal. THEY don't need help but everyone else does. They don't give to charity but everyone else should. THEY don't need Obamacare, but everyone else must have it. THEY can drive Escalades but we should drive battery powered scooters. They can log millions of miles flying all over the planet pushing AGW while we can't use incandescent light bulbs.

Flat tax is nothing more than a politicians wet dream. It just will not work. A progressive tax is in order because those who gain the most profit the most from our infrastructure, protections, and laws. Capitalism must have a leveler or the affluent will consume the many. Any great country must make sure that the masses are well cared for or they will stumble and fail. Unfettered capitalism will never be possible no matter what Rush or any of Rupert Murdoch's minions say.

Now, who is being pissed off and spiteful? I not only give to charity, I do at least eight weeks of volunteer work each year and pay for supplies needed. I drive a 2002 Cavalier and I have only flown twice. My carbon footprint is much below average and I have 24 CFL's and replacing them with LED's as they fail.

Now tell us how you are doing your part.

And a 2002 auto pumps out almost 4 times as much pollution as a new car. And CFLS are a horrible cost to the environment. Try again.

Gosh, you're awesome.

My "part" in what? Living my life as I see fit? Frankly, I do what I want, when I want. I don't worry about light bulbs or solar arrays. I cook with gas and fry with lard. I drink whole milk and eat bacon with my eggs. I drive a big V8 family car and a bigger diesel truck when pulling my decked-out camp trailer. I enjoy good scotch, home made sauerkraut, home made jerky from deer that I kill. My favorite food is stuffed, five meat pizza followed by a large bowl of chocolate ice cream with vanilla syrup poured all over it. My arteries are clean, my heart is strong, my conscience is clear.

Both are absolutely false. A well maintained 2002 Cavalier is cleaner by far than the average new car by far if you consider the materials and energy required to build a new car. The 2002 already exsisted. I bought it used. It is pretty efficient with an actual total MPG of 28 from records I have kept since purchased. The mercury in CFL is minuscle and is far less than what coal fired plants spew into the air lighting all those wasteful incandescents. Try again.

You don't have the money to maintain the car as well as switch to leds now. Not that it makes a difference on a anonymous forum. My house is all led. Spray foam insulated, mini split AC,with solar water heat and power(can't get permission for wind turbine).
