I;ve read Mein Kempf my friend, not because I'm a Nazi , but to understand what it is,.While it is easy to point out the manipulation of our current social systems by the 1%, Their ability to do so has always be the lack of participation of an informed and educated citizenry. It is we the people that have let it come to this point,of inequality. Just as Hitler was really just a puppet on a soap box, he could not have become one of the most infamous leaders of all time, without the power of the people.Ignorance is no longer an excuse

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."

Do you have any clue what socialism is? It would seem to me that when people are in need of disaster relief, the first thing they cry about is for government assistance, It seems my friend you have been manipulated and have fallen for that typical naive propagated assumption ,by your convoluted capitalistic owners.Capitalism is freedom for the slave masters. Capitalism(no regulation), Socialism(both government and free enterprise regulation) and Communism(government regulation) are means in which our free market is regulated. And any of those social systems of management can be Democratic,or Totalitarian.
If you are a big supporter of the military, no doubt you are, then its structure would be totalitarian, as the members of the armed force are brain washed into becoming killers, without question ,sanctioned by your god of coarse. If you want good public education, health care, public utility, food and water management and inspection, better equality of wealth, then Democratic socialism is the way to go. The evidence for this is the time period of the 50s-60s, when the USA was #1 in public education, and the rich paid their fair share of taxes, when public infrastructure was publicly owned by the people. This is assuming of course we the people are government, and not just followers.

Yes, I think it shows the desprearat situation mankind is in. Peak oil was estimated to have occurred in the 70s, based on middle eastern reserves. To this day crude oil and its by-products are in every aspect of our lives, everything in front of us, and everything out side our doors, it is because of this cheap resource of energy, that has brought man into the 21st century. And like any hard drug, we are finding it hard to quite, even though it is killing us. We have become so reliant on it, that if we where to run out tomorrow, life as we know it would cease to exist. Yet there is plenty of alternative, to replace some, not all, crude oil byproducts. If resources where managed on a global scale, in the interest of humanity, it would be possible to calculate just how much is left, giving time to find new means and alternatives. But that can not happen in a competitive market based on scarcity, and corporate ownership of self interest.

A global Direct Democracy, using the Scientific Method, using all the knowledge of mankind, in a shared responsibility, towards the benefit of all mankind and our planets ecosystems. The greatest mystery of Easter Island, is not how the statues got to the beach, but why an apparent civilized society, did nothing to manage and preserve their resources for future generations.

Only spineless whining folks that lack personal responsibility cry out for the government to help. My family and I have been through Katrina, Isabel, flooding and such and NEVER asked for the government to help. We relied on the insurance that WE paid for to do what it was intended to do.
Your social programs create dependency, poverty and enslavement which all bring about higher crime rates which calls for more law enforcement which leads to bigger government and the nasty cycle spins out of control.
Take a little personal responsibility and get the hell out of my pocket! America became the greatest nation on earth when the frickin government was out of our face. Now we are dropping rung by rung from the top and why? A growing government and a growing society that feels it is OWED everything and required to work for nothing. Again my friend, when China and India become the wasteful consumers we are in the west, not only is more of the raw materials, going to come from North and South America, but we the people will have to fight harder for the table scraps. There is no political agenda, in these facts that we are facing as a whole, we are 7 billion on a finite planet, the only planet in the known Universe to sustain this kind of diversity of life. Life as we know it has taken billions of yrs to get to this point, and we as a whole are consuming faster than it can renew itself. Yet we do now by means of science and technology, human ingenuity, intelligence and management skills have the ability to feed house and educate every human on the planet. To better manage the Earths resources, for future generations. The choice and responsibility of change is not that of one persons ideal, but on a general consensus of all citizenry . Take care everyone, and thanks for all the fish, be water my friends be water.
don't live in fear, son. don't make knee jerk reactions. they're almost never the best choice. let science catch up to the theory. people will adapt....or die....which is the natural order of life! mother earth is fine and will continue to self regulate.

I know that's the stock answer for anything that clashes with your ideology but the real truth is everyone can live in a environmental sustainable world without being in a commie collective. Capitalism just needs to be fine tuned to adjust to it, at the moment its running rampant & out of control consuming anything in its path. Pricing carbon is one of those steps in fine tuning, because in the end you won't change your lifestyle unless forced to. Otherwise human behaviour being what it is, a kid in a candy store you either want everything or know that one candy bar is more than enough.

Climate refugees
Perhaps the most disastrous effect of climate change on human health is the emergence of large-scale forced migration from the loss of local livelihoods and weather events - something that is recognised by the United Nations High Commission on Human Rights.
Sea-level rise, decreased crop yield, and extreme weather events will force many people from their lands and livelihoods, while refugees in vulnerable areas also face amplified conditions such as fewer food supplies and more insect-borne diseases.
And those who are displaced put a significant health and economic burden on surrounding communities.
The International Red Cross estimates that there are more environmental refugees than political. Around 36m people were displaced by natural disasters in 2009.
The figure that is predicted to rise to more than 50m by 2050. In one worst-case scenario, as many as 200m people could become environmental refugees.

Actually the whole structure and wealth of American capitalism, comes from the stolen land and slave labour, of both African , Native and European decent. The American war of Independence, was about who was going to take the land west of the Mississippi, the British Monarchy, or the decedent British-American elitists. And again, the priority of where the government spends its money is based on what the citizenry wants. Clearly America decided decades ago to put their money into the infrastructure of its military, rather than ,important things like public education. Odd how , you like to blame all social problems on the poor, the ones who have no say or control over your social programs. rather than at the top of the pyramid, the ones who control the Republic. I think ,Detroit and the rest of the rust belt, is evidence enough , how much your owners care about the interest of people.

There is no such thing as natural, anymore. Science is manipulation and understanding of Alchemy, it is not perfect and changes when new evidence is understood. The unbiased science of today will tell you we have changed that natural Alchemy of the process of the life cycle life on this planet. Its not fear,my friend, its an understanding of the knowledge we do have .The fact, some here can not understand, why we are having more snow, and extreme weather globally, because of more precipitation in the atmosphere , from the melting polar caps and mountain glaciers. Is a sign of great ignorance, of one keeping inside the bubble, and not understanding and stepping outside that bubble our global problems.
