It's just about money. both sides. we have thorium. reactars built 50 yrs ago. safe clean & enough power to last longer than the earth will be habitable. but TOO cheap. I don't know how many of you stand to gain from this drivel or how many are being led around by the nose, but both sides are full of shit. btw, the greatest greenhouse gas is water vapor, so all this debate about CO2 is full of shit too. Damnit when are you people going to get your heads out of your asses?

I get it. You want the United Socialist States of Amerika.
I see, you have to drop back into labels because you have no other good argument. What makes America great is the utilization of both private and public forces to their best advantage. Whatever works best under the circumstances. Quit listening to the the Fox's foibles and think for yourself.

Recent research shows that Arctic sea ice is melting faster than expected. As the Earth continues to warm and Arctic sea ice melts, the influx of freshwater from the melting ice is making seawater at high latitudes less dense. In fact, data shows that the North Atlantic has become fresher over the past several decades. The less dense water will not be able to sink and circulate through the deep ocean as it does currently. This will disrupt or stop the Global Ocean Conveyor. Scientists estimate that, given the current rate of change, the Global Ocean Conveyor may slow or stop within the next few decades.

What is causing the melting? Global warming, of course. If this turns out to be the scenaero, then the warming is still not a good thing.

"This would not be the first time that the Global Ocean Conveyor was halted. There is evidence from sedimentary rocks and ice cores that it has shut down several times in the past and those shut downs have caused changes in climate. One of the most well-known, the Younger Dryas Event, happened about 12,700 years ago and caused temperatures to cool about 5 C in the region."

Hmmm... "not the first time". Another self-contradicting post.

LOL

But maybe it was those stone ages SUV's?

Ok then what do we do. China gets 85% of its energy from burning coal, try to use nuclear now look at the pacific ocean its so polluted we will be seeing the efects from that for decades to come, and the gulf of mexico same scenario polluted the earth will win weather we like it or not but we wanted technology and cars and jets and ships and semis to deliver all the garbage us humans "need" to have a happy life. Seems like a downward spiral and we are out of control

I've long maintained that if fat Al and the warmers on here would merely halve their intake of burritos the crisis would be over.
