Disagree.

Not all had visions of one world government -- some were indeed true believers that they could have their cake and eat it too -- as in 'clean energy' but still having the same lifestyle.

But many others have found the 'cause' something that lends itself to that goal.

And for the latter group, yup, just more of the same politics. They'll be good followers until they've used up the advantages of the 'cause' and will then strike out to their 'true' agenda.

Hopefully, we'll never have to witness that prediction.

COLUMBIA — More than 3,700 acres of mined land await clean-up in Missouri, a legacy of Missouri's unregulated coal mining past.

Coal mining started in Missouri during the 1840s, but only one active coal mine, located in Hume, remains. Emission restrictions have made the state's high-sulfur coal less desirable. Now, the state must grapple with the thousands of acres of abandoned mines, 35 of which began to be cleaned up in early July.

How much CO2 did you churn up into the atmosphere just to find this little factoid?

Every time you do your claims of a "crisis" get weaker and weaker.

Intelligence is realizing when you have made a mistake in believing "once slow-moving threat, global warming speeds up".

Denial is when one refuses to acknowledge a mistake. How many mistakes in your understanding of CAGW have you made?

btw, "the first step in setting an example"? You're kidding right? I've been noting how 'some' aren't setting an example in post after post and you ignore it or attempt to belittle the idea.
The Health care bill was passed into law, it was challenged in the supreme court and the case was lost. Then we had a presidential election on it, nothing changed. So you are telling us the American people want to repeal the health care law. We will wait and see what the polls say, tea partiers are a dying annoyance that has prevented a government from progressing in any way. As for a budget being passed, you getting this from Fox right ?
Try and draw up a budget that will get the tick of approval by any of your lot. As the Washington post states it's a total waste of time as it would be stonewalled at every turn. The prez has had to govern with exec powers due to a non functioning government.
Like I said in previous post, imagine if a carbon tax was in a budget drawn up. At least with mid terms now Americans will get a chance to vote again on how wonderfully their tea party republicans represented them. This is the thing about the new party the republicans have evolved into, their demographic dies off each year so enjoy your time in the sun. It's going to be short lived!

It is not about 'belief' or 'mistake'. The science is in. That is FACT and it is stupid to deny it.

Your denial is based on refusing to believe the evidence (science), not a 'mistake' so this claims is a mistake..

Personally, I made a few when I first questioned the science. But with science, continued reading and learning will correct them. I don't know if I still have any mistakes in my understanding but none have been found lately.

OTOH, your ignorance means that you have no limit for mistakes. And show it.

“The biggest problem we’re dealing with is a sense of hopelessness,” Paulson says. “But I’m saying we’re the first generation with the knowledge and the ability to do something: We don’t need new science, and we have great technology. We need the will to act now so we don’t leave our children and grandchildren with a catastrophic burden.”

Hmmm... not refuting any of your recollection as to the timeline of Obamacare, but you cannot deny that Constitutionally the House still controls the purse strings.

Pity Obamacare wasn't passed on a bipartisan basis. If it were, then the partisanship being played out today wouldn't be happening.

That's just the way it is... don't like it? Change the Constitution.

Three branches to our government ... three. All have their roles.

Your denial is common among doomsday believers.
How many years before we can accept that we have reached a tipping point? An end of the world scenario.
If we frack our way to using up our entire energy budget in the next 12 months then we can agree that CAGW THEORY is just a silly bit of alarmism... if we are still alive.

Jeez, you guys are such babies about this Carbon scare.

"The authors of AR5 said the world had already used between half and two-thirds of its "carbon budget" - the amount of carbon dioxide it can afford to burn this century without pushing us over the edge to a planet more than 2°C warmer than in the pre-industrial era.

The 2°C threshold is a limit agreed by most of the world's governments as a safety point beyond which global warming could lurch uncontrollably towards a possibly irreversible catastrophe for modern society."

Global warming is real.

It is serious.

We are causing it.

There are things we can do about it.
