I hope you are joking. What is his name? This guy took my wife and I for a few thousand dollars and I would like to see him brought to justice. If you know his name, please post it here!!

I had my number stolen by this joker, and subsequently a couple of thousand dollars from my account. My wife had her number stolen as well. We blame an ATM machine we both used. This coward of a man didn't have the stones to face me when he was taking my money and my wife's money. Therefore, I hope this man is hit with the book and forced to write apologies to all of his victims. Yes our money was refunded, but we were forced to start our financial life over, shutting down all accounts, credit cards and changing all of our account numbers and passwords- all right before Christmas. It is a terrible feeling of vulnerability and I do not wish it on my worst enemy. I expect this man to spend some serious time behind bars making ammends with his victims. I hope they find this guy soon, and he meets one of his victims in the holding cell. That would be poetic.

What does this device look like? What should we be looking for?

Yes, what does he look like? The public needs to know.

why isn't there a picture of the guy? That's a very generic description!!

Also, the thief is a pinhead because there are cameras on all ATMs, and eventually he'd get caught. The devices would be found--as they have been--and they just have to scan through video.

My sympathies, Chris.

Yeah, it would be helpful if there were pictures of the fraudulent devices so people can be on the lookout.

If that's true, how about helping out the police. As bad as times are, people cannot loose their money like this.

Why isn't a picture of this device available to the public? What about a picture of the man doing this?

Right before Christmas, I noticed several fraudulent charges at gas stations in Park Ridge and Des Plaines amounting to over $250. I had been using the WaMu ATM at Diversey and Clark. Two other friends of mine had money stolen out of their accounts after using the same machine. I hope this stupid person realizes the inconvenience he has caused in addition to outright theft. I would also like to know what these scanners look like.

For those who want to see photos of what these types of ATM scamming devices can look like, the above links may be helpful. The articles below the photos on these sites also give tips on how to protect yourself and your money when using an ATM. For example, always use your hand to block the keypad when you type your PIN, or feel along the part where you swipe your card to be sure there is nothing in there that may be capturing or reading your card.
Also, I (as a banker) just want to remind people to always check your bank account statements, look into getting internet banking so you can check more often than once a month, or just ask for your balance when you visit or call your bank.

It does not matter if he is from Hinsdale, Willowbrook, Wheaton, Kustendil or Africa, when he is stupid and he does bad to people or he involves a lot of people with his stupidity he will regret everything if he doesnt stop messing with people's live.So thats why everybody have to be smart and think before doing anything that hurts people because at the end everything cames back to the person causing it and even 10 times more of what he has done. Thats why people have to be very smart, knowing every step they make and most important we have to be A REAL MAN.
