At least here in FL, it will help no one but Walgreen's. There is literally a Walgreen's across the street from almost every CVS. People will just go there instead.

2/3 of that list is things people did not choose to have/be. So, yeah, discriminating against someone for something they have absolutely no control over is wrong.

But smoking is something people choose to do.

1/3
And it's wrong to discriminate against people just because you don't happen to like their habit. Everything else besides smoking and I think you would agree.

I'm not going to be drawn into an argument with you if being gay is a choice. Let's just agree to disagree on that one.

But I still don't understand how it's discrimination to not sell cigarettes. Smokes are still available in many other places. And since smoking can affect others' health, then separating them while they partake in the smoking is a valid way to protect other people.

My hypocracy comment was more about not selling cigs using the excuse that they're bad for you, yet continuing to sell candy and soda. If CVS wants to promote "healthiness" (seems like that is related to truthiness) then they should stop selling that stuff too.

And that's all I'm saying. It's hypocritical of them to only single out cigarettes.

And you know what else is funny? They can dole out the morning after pill and medical marijuana, but have a moral objection to tobacco.

3/4 of those are illegal. Cigarettes are not. I'm okay with yelling at strangers

But no outrage for Viagra?

And I seriously doubt that CVS is going to "dole out" medical marijuana.

I don't understand either how it's discrmination not to sell cigarettes to ANYONE. I'm sure there are many products CVS does not sell. What a store choses to sell or not is their business as long as it is not discriminitory. If they decided not to sell cigarettes to women but to others, that's a problem. If they decided to sell smokes to French people only (I hear they smoke a lot in France -- don't know if that's true), that would be a problem.

I don't think it has anything to do with health. I know they may be saying that, but really what it's about is $$$ and they're thinking those people making a fuss about them selling cigarettes will affect their business.

I don't even know if this is really going on b/c the CVS by us sells smokes.

I'm sure they'd love to. I don't think they can because it conflicts with federal law, right now.

I don't believe so, and that's the point. As long as they're legal, smoking shouldn't be banned everywhere. You wanna outlaw cigarettes, that's one thing. But until then, screw off

Because if we can't use birth control to manage our libido, men should not be able to use Viagra to manage theirs.

Can't get it up? That's YOUR problem. I don't want to have to pay for it.

Viagra is used to help men with ED.

The morning after pill is used to prevent a life. Two completely different functions, so I'm not seeing the comparison.

I oppose taxpayer-funded viagra, as well. Controlling your libido is YOUR responsibility. It shouldn't be mine. Man OR woman. Could you get on board with that?
