2009 wrong way

Tricia Rawana, 33, pleaded guilty to felony death by vehicle. In 2009, police said Rawana was impaired when she drove the wrong way on East W.T. Harris Boulevard and struck another car head-on. The crash killed the other driver, 43-year-old Kim Mobley. Rawana, who was hospitalized for about a month after the crash, was sentenced to 20-33 months in prison.
GRANITE FALLS -- A woman was seriously injured Wednesday evening in a head-on collision in southern Caldwell County, police say.
The injured woman apparently was driving the wrong way, according to authorities.
The crash was reported about 8:30 p.m. on southbound U.S. 321, between Brady Creek and Pinewood Road. Police say the woman was driving northbound when her car collided with a southbound minivan.
The woman, who police described as elderly, was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the minivan was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
