2) Click the "Residential Customers Click Here for Details" link box next to the $120 offer. This will take you to a Costco page on the DirecTV website.

3) Click the orange "Get DIRECTV" button near the bottom of the page. DirecTV will ask for your zip code and your County of residence then takes you to the next page.

4) Select your programming package of choice by clicking “Select” under your chosen option, choose the type of receiver per TV and then click the orange "Proceed to Cart" button.

5) IMPORTANT! Open a new Tab in your browser and enter the following link in the new Tab: http://www.directv.com/refer

6) In the space provided: Enter account # 47097731, and click the orange "Get DIRECTV" button. Don't hit BACK button after this.

7) A new updated Shopping Cart will be displayed and you will now see a new "Discounts" line item section which says "Referral Credit for 10 Months | Instant Savings -$10.00". You will also notice that the monthly cost will be lowered by ten dollars from the original Shopping Cart. Make sure that you continue your order from the newest Shopping Cart which will reflect the $10.00 discount.

If you are going to sign up with directv I suggest you use cw.directv.com . It will give you a $120 to 200 dollar Costco gift card which you can use online at costco.com or in their store. You do not need to be a member of Costco to use a gift card there. As long as the banner is at the top of the page you will get the card mailed to you after install. No need to do anything further.

It will stack with the your friends referral code. If you need a code though, feel free to use mine as it will save you and myself $10 dollars off each of our bill for 10 months. Hope I was able to inform you of an even better deal if you were not already aware of it.

Since I just signed up, here's some revised instruction:

1) Go to http://cw.directv.com , confirm that there's the $200 Costco cash card banner

2) Click on the orange "View all packages" button

3) Choose the package that suits you (you have to sort through the channels pretty quickly. My cart timed out a few times while I was selecting.) Click Select, input your zip code, then choose your receivers (you need a master receiver, and for each additional room, choose another receiver like Genie Mini Client.) It says Free (for the hardare) but they charge you $6 for each additional room though. Once you've confirmed the number of receivers, click on "Continue to cart"

4) While you're on the "Cart" page, click on my referral link: http://refer.directv.com/a/clk/3QRWVV . My account number will show up on the page (56750189). Click the orange "Get Directv" button. The button might grey out for a bit, but don't worry, the browser will record your referral record.

5) At this point, you might be faced with two browsers with the same information. Both should show that you have the following discounts:

"$29 Bill Credit for Months 1-12" -$29.00
"Referral Credit for 10 Months" -$10.00

6) From this point on, you can enter your personal information, including SSN if you don't want to pay a deposit. Make sure you have a credit card on hand because the page will refresh very very quickly (mine refreshed within a minute or two.) You'll be able to set up your installation too. There's availability in my area in two days so I'm pretty happy with it!

I am very frustrated by this whole process. Yes when you start at the cw website it says there is a $200 cash card. But at the end of the process, they don't give you anything in writing to say you will receive the card after installation. They give you all the cost info on the package you are purchasing and that it is a 24 month contract - but they don't put in writing that you will receive the $200 Costco card - at least from what I received. So we are just supposed to trust them?
