President Obama’s income in 2011 was $789,674. That’s $746,674 more than the average American’s income. In 2012, this amount was $608,611, as reported on his federal income tax return. That means he doesn’t have to worry about his mortgage (if he had one), credit report or grocery budget. Of course the job is much harder, there is more stress, and everyone is constantly looking over your shoulder…
So where does his income come from? The annual salary for U.S. President is only 46% of President Obama’s salary. Investment income, including interest on Treasury notes and bills, accounts for 1% of his income. The rest? Yep, book royalties! The Presidents salary might only be 46% of his total earnings, but it is still a healthy $400,000 per year. If the President was paid hourly, he would earn $223.84 per hour for a forty hour work week. And although the First Lady works almost as hard as (or even harder than) the President, she only earns $10,000 a year.In addition to his annual salary, the President has many perks for being in office. These perks, which include a $19,000 entertainment budget, add up to $1,169,000 annually. For most Americans, perks such as these would be expenses coming out of their paychecks. And talk about a Christmas bonus! When the First Family celebrated Christmas in their home state of Hawaii, taxpayers alone spent over $7 million dollars. Having a high income is good, but the number that really counts is the net worth. If a person has a negative net worth, even if they earn millions of dollars, they are still in debt. However, the President does not have to worry about that. His net worth is estimated to be $14 million when he leaves office. How do former presidents earn a living? Speaking engagements and public appearances provide some income for former presidents. The higher income often comes through writing autobiographies of their time in office. Former President George W. Bush received a $7 million dollar advance for his story, and Former President Bill Clinton received $15 million advance. What about Obama? He is predicted to receive a $10 million advance. Sounds easy? Maybe, but the chances of become president are 1 in 10 million. Maybe that job isn’t so bad after all." Gee, what a story to tell...."How I Bankrupted America". Great.
The cost of the Obama Christmas vacation (according to Travel Magazine) was $4 million. I am sure that he wouldn't mind if you just took that $3 million extra that you stated and put it in your pocket. I don't think that you are dumb enough not to know the requirements of staff that travel with him and every preceeding President. Why is it you were never concerned with any other President's travel expense? I don't ever hear about any of those. Anyhow, it is what it is. Aren't you glad that he decided not to spend Christmas in Kenya?

Waco, That is either a statement of true paranoia, or maybe you are just feeling revolutionary today and want to put a shock statement on here.. Either way, there is no intention of Democrats killing our right wing brothers and sisters. Besides, the Republican party is doing such a good job of it, why should we bother?

1. Presidents do not spend government money, congress does that.
So--- all those people who constantly rant about Obama spending money or Bush spending money are talking out their ass.

2. With that FACT established , lets look at money spent during Bush Administration (by CONGRESS), starting Sept 2001 and ending sept 2009. Yes, I know Obama was inaugurated in Jan 2009 , so we can go back and interpolate if you wish, but that will not change my point. The difference is 6.093 trillion dollars. Subtract 1.6 trillion from that amount for interest paid on the pre existing debt of 5.8 trillion and you get $4.493 trillion dollars during those 8 years.

Now lets look at the money spent during Obama's tenure (by CONGRESS) from Sept 2009 until the present. The difference is $4.16 trillion dollars. Now subtract 1.8 trillion dollars for interest paid on the pre existing debt of 11.9 trillion and you get $2.366 trillion dollars (spent by CONGRESS during Obama's tenure)

Soo ? 1. You are FOS about presidents spending money. 2. You are FOS about more being spent during Obama's tenure.
Now lecture everyone about math.

What TWO parties comprise that governmental entity?

You're a fool. How much do you think Obama will spend in the next three years? He's already outspent Bush in five years. So, it is Obama who presents the budget to Congress. So, who's budget is that? The Easter Bunny's? You have elevated the art of arrogance to typical democrat levels.By the way, recall what the deficit was the day before Obama took office? What do you think it is now? The problem is that Obama has how many years left in office? So any idiot on here that can say Bush out spent him is wrong. The guy isn't OUT OF OFFICE yet. Therefore you can not compare his spending to Bush, even though he has surpassed it now. BUT we will wait and see if he doesn't spend another dime. Remember people he has till 2016 to spend.

Looks like our"system"allows the House , along with a democrat controlled Senate and Executive office, to send America into a financial tailspin. The House sent a compromise to the President, which would have put this off for six months, but was refused.Extending the debt ceiling for six months, certainly doesn't seem like holding America"hostage"to me.
