Some kids lack motivation. We call parents regularly and report their current state to them. When a parent is called and a kid continues to fail to bring in homework, make effort in their work, and cause disruptions in the classroom, we continue to do our job and attempt to teach them. We report to the administration and all the discipline measures they come up with also many times do not work. Requested parent conferences very seldom are attended by many parents. You can fire one of your employees, but we can't fire any student. The struggle continues on. Maybe you have some suggestions.
Maybe, therein lies the problem. Education should be considered a privilege, not a right, entitlement, etc,,,, as it is in the many countries that kick out asses every year. Hence the difference with private schools, it IS a privilege to attend, therefor the scores, participation by students, parents, & teachers, and the overall experience is greater than govt schools.

Call UNC and give them their money back because you robbed them of a free ride.
Since we are beating this dead horse, again, our kids are grown. They have the right to define themselves however they see fit. They all have chosen for themselves to align themselves with conservative points of view. They did have "black" friends while they played sports and they even listened to rap music at some point. But, again, the all have chosen, on their own free will, to endorse a conservative point of view.
Fortunately, for Katie and I, we taught them to make decisions based being informed and not an emotions. I am not sorry you disagree. Perhaps when you have your own children, you can raise them your own way.
Clearly you do not understand how your influence compromised their free will. Free will is not black and white.
You clearly brainwashed them to think as you do for the most part.

Emotions should be listened to, but not relied upon as if not possibly faulty. You seem to rely on your instinct for seperation of others not like yourself.
You do just as the apes of today do. They segregate themselves from other tribes.
You fail to use the logic man has to understand that those who do not look like yourself are still humans and are good to work and play together with.

I see you cannot even remember what you claim from one post to the next.
Note this statement by you here; They did have "black" friends while they played sports.
Now on my next post, I will show the contradiction.
This should help point out how you brainwash and are ignorant of it.

Yes, the could purchase what ever they wanted with the money they saved from their jobs. No they could not play in MY house. No, they did not bring black friends over, but they never really had "black friends", just team mates from their sports team.
I have no reason to explain myself to you, again. Your assertion that civil rights have been violated but not proven in a court of law by a jury of our peers. And your opinions mean precisely dick, blackface.
Katie and I are leaving them nothing. We have paid for and provided all we are ever going to provide. They can earn their wealth and provide for themselves now, since they are adults.
Just like Katie and I did.
What I don't understand about you AZ, is that you know you and I will never agree or see eye to eye on anything, yet you keep trying to generate some sort of response as if you have no other facets in your life that show you some sort of attention? Are you really that pathetic, starved of attention or in dire need of validation that you are relying on Topix to fill that gap?
It was rhetorical question but you answered it already...
"They did have "black" friends while they played sports."

Now did they have black friends or not? I am not sure if you know what the word even means.

So clearly your dictator like demands slowly brainwashed your children to be racist like yourself.

You are FOS. I have consistently stated that the Benghazi attack was a terrorist act , which by definition had to have been done by terrorist. Anyone with even half a brain would understand that.
Now I am asking WHY republikans have decided to support terrorist against the USA by blaming Americans for what terrorist did.
Pro-American wrote:
<quoted text>You obviously didn't comprehend my post. Four months ago WE, the conservative side on this forum, claimed it WAS a terrorist attack. The liberal side of this forum said NO IT WASN'T, it was an "act of terror"....semantics...ba sically defending the Ruler because he had already declared "an end to the war on terror" thus meaning they were no more terrorist. Now today you're saying it WAS terrorist, hence the contradiction from your side. Now was it "you" that said it "wasn't" four months ago, I don't recall but I do recall it was your side, those that defend the Ruler.
Now are you claiming the State Dept got the two incidents, Egypt & Lybia, confused with one another when they made their rounds on the Sun morning shows blaming a video?

Yes, the article was written by a teacher, as I clearly stated.
Yes, learning is the responsibility of students and their parents.
Perhaps you have heard that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. The Asian students as a group are learning and performing at high levels in the same schools that black and caucasian students as a group perform at a lower level. They have the same teachers, so what makes the difference? Its attitude, attitude, attitude. The asian parents have taught their children that learning is an investment in their own future and that failing to learn and failing to achieve damages their future prospects. The others have parents who make up excuses for their child, blaming any failure on the schools, the teacher, liberals, the boogy man, anyone but the actual persons responsible--the failing child and his parent.
Pro-American wrote:
<quoted text>I agree, parents involvement in their child's lives is the most important aspect, especially when concerning education, but what I got from your article was that the teachers are saying its not their fault the students aren't learning, it's the parents fault? Isn't it the teachers job to teach? Because children learn at different levels, speed, comprehension, etc..., isn't it their job to try and reach every student? New schools, free laptops, etc..., doesn't teach a child, the teacher does. I guess because I'm used to dealing with private school teachers, I'm not used to teachers passing the buck! It's safe to say this article was written by a govt school teacher!

Now that NC has republiksan control of both houses of the legislature and the governorship, what is being done to create jobs?
Well, for starters, the legislature has approved an ADDITIONAL $50,000 tax break for EVERY partner in EVERY law firm in NC. That is sure to get things moving---for lawyers. Another monumental achivement is solving the seal level rising problem by passing a law against the sea rising. There, we fixed it. Now governor McCory and speaker Thom Tillis wants to stop teaching achademic courses at UNC and replace that with welding. Next is eliminating state income taxes for corporations and businesses. To make up the shortfall, sales taxes will be raised to 8% on food, medicine, doctor visits, car sales, utility bills or anything else essential to existence ---except airplanes and yachts.

And if you truly believed your rhetoric of "once born in America" line, then why so serious about socialism?

Every has the right to try or fail. As you eloquently point out, there are no absolutes, right? If you truly believed that then there wouldn't be any need for entitlements for the "economically challenged" folk because of their inability to manage their wealthy or money because that would be considered an absolution to their survival.

See the trend? Conservatives are so dense, they cannot understand why government grows when they ask for such things.

Twice in one day. Next you will be asking to grow the military.
Growing government are your words, not mine.

Contractors, queer bait. Just like when you go take a physical for a job. Oops, I forgot. You don't have a real job. My bad, let me dumb it down for you.

When you work in the real world, they require accountability, part of that accountability is maintaining a fit workforce. No drugs and minimal health or safety risks to its personnel.

<quoted text>Yes, I compare the two, and you have yet to demonstrate why I should not.
Begining or continuation. What is the difference?
Bush failed to protect the American homeland. Three thousand civilians died due to the failure. Now you can wish to sweep that under the rug, but I will not allow it to be done.
Everytime your team brings this up, the people are reminded of the Bush failure to protect America.
This is why your team is falling apart.
If you can not see the difference in the step up in terrorists threats then and now, put you head back in the sand. Ambassador Stevens told the State Dept. of a threat, he was ignored. Stevens and his team were in a "hot zone" that was the reason he was sent there, according to the Sec. of State, in front of Congress. Yet, your "team" ignored his warnings of a threat. I don't believe an Ambassador told President Bush squat. You know Mike, it's easy for you and I to be "armchair" quarterbacks here, I try not to do it on this issue because I knew someone who died on flight 93. I know her family and they were briefed extensively on that event. I don't believe any American wants to "sweep that under the rug" as you put it.
