I'm assuming you're speaking of the filthy rich. Isn't cleaning his house, washing his cars, etc...considered jobs? Aren't they being compensated?
It's not bankrupting the middle class, put the kool-aid down.
Are they being compensated? Pro don't mistake me.You and Bacon are the MOST IMPORTANT AMERICANS! NO SARCASM! Its true.YOU aren't bankrupting the middle class.WHY do you stand with those who are? Must upper middle class stand with the filthy rich?

Pro I apologize for that post a few days ago to you.I just plain lost it.I regret that. The reason I regret those remarks?I should have phrased it far less harshly.I should have respected the fact that you are a decent person.I did not. That dehumanizes you and makes me a jerk! Since I'm only a part-time jerk...I'm sorry I overreacted! We just don't see things the same way.

Hey Silver, one of my dumba$$ liberal friends offered me 3 to 1 odds on the election with no limit! Should I take it easy on him, since he is a friend, and just go $500 to his $1500 or should I teach him a lesson on not to make such stupid bets and go my $5k to his $15k?

<quoted text> The point I'm trying to make is simple. We all need one another.I could have gone further.Did he make his own car? We all know auto makers in Japan and Detroit pay good wages.I'm not living in a vacuum you are.You live in a state of denial. Those lawn companies you talk of? They hardly ever pay that well to the people doing the work.Almost NEVER PROVIDE HEALTH benefits. So these lawn care workers make money. With no health coverage. You may not know this bacon, it may come as a shock to you, but you are upper class financially.I come from the"lower class".I may have some money now.I'm"middle lower class"financially . Bacon you and your husband"came up"as well.Much further than me which reflects well on the two of you.We all operate according to our inherent abilities as well.Bacon you are one of the most creative and intelligent people on Topix. You have more character in your little finger than some multimillionaires I could name.Intelligence itself is a blessing.I know a guy who works at Dennys.Despite a pretty severe handicap.Doesn't make much money. No medical benefits. But by gosh he WORKS! But....if he needs an expensive medical procedure....he's out of luck.Pro would say the man was not self-sufficient because he can't afford health care.I disagree. He performs to the limit off his ABILITIES! And...I'M living in a vacuum?
Waco, if the man working at Denny's is that severly disabled, he can draw medicare and disability and please don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about on this subject. My brother has never been denied any healthcare he has needed because he draws medicare. Sure, we didn't like paying the 20%, but that's life and there's programs that help pay the balance if a person cannot. My brother has enrolled in a program to help the study of stroke victims and those with blood disorders. It took the whole family, his DNA panel and our's, but it was worth it financially and more importantly, it may help someone like you or me if we have a stoke someday. I'm glad your friend is working, makes those that are healthy not working look even more slack than they are.

As far as the lawn companies I was talking about, there are several large landscaping/lawn companies around where I live and they make a good living and they're good to their workers. I attend church with someone that works for one and he has health insurance. Maybe things are different where you live with lawn companies. There's nothing wrong with being rich and nothing wrong with not being wealthy. I've been both and in both situations and I've made the best out of the good and the bad.

It's all good, no need for the apology, I have thick skin.....but thanks anyways. I agree that we disagree on many fronts but that being said, I still respect you and your opinion. The same goes for ALMOST everyone on here.

<quoted text>I never said ALL democrats are communist, just the ones who preach "fair share" & "redistribution of wealth".
I pointed out several post ago that yes, the democrats ARE a socialist party, NOT the whole society. Most Republicans still believe in individualism.
How does your vote determine how much is enough for someone else? Again, your party believes it knows whats best for others better than they do!
Yes, the rich,(the job creators), are hoarding their money until after Romney wins the election because they have NO faith in Obama. A recent poll of 1500 job creators had 100% of them admitting to hoarding money until after the election. The number one reason was because Obama has shown time and time again, he has no clue when it comes to the economy. Yes, the democrats will try to take credit, saying it's Obama's policies that helped Romney create jobs but the fact is neither create jobs, the rich do! Are they greedy, no, they just want a return on their investment..... which they won't get with Obama. All they'll get is higher taxes!
Pretty sad excuse for why tax cuts are not creating jobs. I am sure you will have another excuse if Romney wins. Point is, tax cuts do not automatically create jobs. I proved it and you admitted to it.

Here is a post my friend made on facebook today. I thought it was pretty good. I am sure you will call him a communist.

Claiming that low rates of corporate taxation improves the employment environment is idiotic. Corporations do not say, "oh, our taxes have reached an optimal level and now lets start hiring people." The entire corporate model, the entire capitalist model, is predicated on reducing production costs to the point of complete elimination, maximize profits, minimize expenditures, and production cost savings come first and foremost from labor inputs. Give corporations low taxes, they'll agitate for lower, give them zero tax rates, and they'll agitate for subsidies. Subsidize corporations and they'll cut wages and benefits and costs and advocate for regulatory repeal and externalize every penny of production cost and consequence possible.

<quoted text> If one doesn't live the word of God, then he's probably doing the devil's work. The Lord works in mysterious ways. I don't have all of the answers, that's his job. Maybe you should ask him sometime.
You just showed a perfect example of why theist refuse to think for themselves on morality and other things. "His job?" No, it is your job to think, that is why you have a brain, use it.
"Devils work?" There is no such thing as a devil. But I know what you are trying to say. But fact is, your claim has no basis in truth.
Now if one believes in a god and is not thinking of what morality really is and is amoral, then yes, he will likely do bad.
But an atheist is not living in the mindset that a god makes rules. An atheist gets his moral understandings from other places. So your concept fails here.

I get mine from various places. I think most come from innate instincts. I learn to understand my instincts through studying evolutionary psychology to refine the feelings to modern day situations.

I study history. I learn the effects of actions and can deduce what is good and bad due to the effects of actions.

I study philosophy. Philosophers make a lifelong practice of doing thought experiments.
When you say it is gods job to do this thinking, I say philosophers try to take on this job. Now that does not mean I will accept all they say without question, like you do with god. A philosopher will spell out his reasoning so I can make my own decisions on the concept. God does not. And your statement shows why. You just blindly accept it as perfect.
Sorry, but that sounds extremely negligent.
