I understand. I applied for my kids SS cards while visiting in Buffalo so they could get numbers that started with zero instead of living with the stigma of having a southern SS number. It did not work because they assigned the number by address

This thread is hilarious, but my favorite posts are the ones from (allegedly)transplanted northerners who cobble up fictional stories wherein they move south and immediately begin informing all southerners they encounter as to the level of their stupidity, followed by a comment on the mysterious absence of southern hospitality. I've only encountered such behavior twice,from expatriates of Ohio and Pittsburgh, but those flukes are self-explanatory.

My kids went to more diverse, urban Southern Schools where they probably didn't spew too many of those lies.

Timmy and people like him refuse to accept that the North won the Civil War and that we own them. We carried our carpetbags down there and they are our subordinates because they "don't take kindly to no high-falootin' book lernins".

Between their broom-pushing, ditch-digging and small engine repair they make remarks behind our backs about a "northbound bus full of Yankees", but they don't have the guts to push us out.
