That is just so absurb that you think every nyer is inconsiderate.. I have been holding doors open for people for years...There are rude people in all walks of life including the south...I don't care where ur from...I give respect and accept everyone inspite of where they're from and expect the same in return...I am sorry, you came in contact with a rude person from the north...Don't judge us all the same...Because we're not!

The only time I appreceiate someone holding a door open for me is in flu season, so that I dont have to touch it. You southerners need to lower your expectations with the door thing. It isnt personal. Why would anyone expect another person to hold the door for them? That just makes for a untimely exchange of verbage, like oh, thanks, along with a smile. I would perfer to manage my own doors and get on with it. No offense.

Yankees are poor dressers and very rude. They are the only people I have seen with shorts on at the beach with white socks with sandals!! Just no class!!!!

Southerners use that door opening thing as an opportunity to commit adultery

And you southern idiots wear shorts 12 months out of the year even when it is 40 degrees out. You rarely wear socks and you wear blue jeans to weddings and funerals. That is just ONE of the reasons we Yakees come down there to work all the white collar jobs. Of course the MAIN reason is that we can speak proper English and we take regular showers and brush our teeth

I agree LC. Southerners would be amazed at what could be accomplished by just getting a shower and a haircut, not to mention actually learning how to drive. Oh, but wait. . We cannot forget to be polite to the person that holds up 23 cars at rush hour, to let someone on the road in front of them. Now thats hospitality, southern style, even though it may have caused 3 pile ups behind them.

I was behind this one guy on Providence who decided he would play 'traffic control'. He came to a complete stop on a T intersection to allow traffic to get out of their community. I blew my horn and he appeared angered that I dared to be so selfish even if the car behind me almost rear-ended me. Then a mile up the road this same jerk appeared to be making a right so I went to his left but he turned left anyway without using his signal or going to the left turning lane where I almost t-boned him. I guess signaling is a skill set that requires that you know how to do more than one thing at a time.

Forget all the polite stuff, shut up and drive. Save the southern hospitality for opening doors, holding doors and smiling.
