Anthony Rogers was raised in Belmont when its prosperity was tied to the textile mills that kept the city spinning.

He might be a great talent, but I certainly don't want to look at reminders of such a sad thing. That's what politicians keep doing to us. NAFTA and CAFTA killed our communities. Now we have to have big box stores and bars to try to keep things afloat. No more community feel.

I went to the library to check out the exhibit and thought it was very good. One picture I loved was of spools sitting in the window of an old mill window, the use of color was striking. Another in a small frame showed the water tower over on Catawba Ave photographed through either a pipe or rubble, it framed the tower perfectly. I understand the sentiments of the previous post but would encourage everyone to go check out Mr Roger's exhibit.
