That's right, Minnesotans. Rant on about these people who are trying to inform you ignorant dolts about the real world beyond your once open-minded state. Down another beer and buy another part for your Harleys and enjoy your trips to Sturgis. Another proud moment for Midwesterners, indeed.
Yet you waste your time reading a Minnesota newspaper all the way over there in 'enlighted' Italy...

Wow...bitter about something? Your right though - I could not wait to hear about the "real world" information they were going to provide on their return, so I could be enlightend.

Why don't you go for a hike in Iran!

The kid graduated from UC Berkley, an ignorant college that preaches extreme liberalism which probably brainwashed this kid into thinking that he would be safe anywhere in the world because he has an open mind. This should be a warning to anyone thinking they can beat the odds in a crazed area of the world that would like nothing more than all Americans to die.

I hope these kids get out of this and don't apologize for the Iranians.

Maybe they were surprised to find out that Iran is much more serious (and better) about stopping illegal aliens than the U.S.

Bahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Who is the ignorant dolt? You M-f'er! We are not being detained for "hiking" in a hostile nation. Looks like idiots like you enjoy foreign prisons. Good luck with that, and see you in Sturgis!!!! Oh, right, you're too fricking stupid to have fun. You all stocked up on soap on a rope?

Let them stay. Bad judgement has consequences and these people obviously had the intellect (and technology) to know that a) crossing in to Iran is not a good thing, b) they are crossing in to Iran. Probably just some journalists that want to make a name for themselves and get a book deal. Don't waste time, money or diplomatic energy on these trustafarians.

Nobody goes on vacation to the Iraq/Iran border. All 3 of the "college students" are Jewish. Joshua Fattal even writes for the Jewish Week. They are most likely spying for Israel.

Iran has every right to detain them. Israel is a mad dog nuclear power who is threatening to attack Israel. What would happen if our government found 3 Iraqi muslims on our mexican border?

Why am I not surprised. SF inhabitants, Berkeley grads,“working” as “free-lance journalists.”
So much for the Iranians’ contention that they’re CIA agents. About as much chance that Berkeley grads would be CIA agents as that they could flap their little arms and fly to the moon.
