That might be true that you can't keep them out but if you are not selective, individuals will stop supporting the venues. I was out of town last week and did not here about it until I came to work and how people were mad about waisting their time and money.

It has not given the Convention Center a positive spin from what I am hearing at work.

I was so disappointed after waisting $7 to get into a 1 room show. The first thing you see is all ugly jewlery then bongs and pipes. The advertisement seemed to be false. Since I was there at 4pm on friday they cannot say all the good items were sold. The Laptops looked as if they were refurbed or serviced. I hope the Convention Center will never have the show again.

So... How long before the Convention Center Authority turns the new building into an indoor flea market? What about a dollar store?

Here's a clue. Vendor title "Aroma Senses"
$7 to get in? Not!

I expected more from the center. Casey said they have had others like it at Tullio Center. I've been to a couple and they were in no way like this.

I WAS CONSIDERING GOING TO THIS EVENT AND AM GLAD I DIDNT WAIST THE $7 DOLLAR ADMISSION TO SEE DRUG PARAPHANALIA BEING SOLD. WHEN PEOPLE STARTED COMPLAINING YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT LAW ENFORCEMENT WOULD INTERVENE AND SHUT THE THING DOWN. LOOKS GOOD FOR THE CITY GO TO THE CONVENTION CENTER AND BUY YOUR BONG.

Gee, after this liquidation sale maybe we'll see the police department coming in and raffling off all the the confiscated drugs, bongs and pipes and that way it'll will be like giving back to the city.

I bet the city will love when all the drug dealers start comming the the convention center to view what is for sale. Maybe those tables because of the "if they can pay we have to let them in" should be held in the G.A.F building. That sounds great.

Wow i think that's really sad that this company can make $28000 selling fake prada purses and bongs. oh and thats $28000 just off admission. the civic center's liquidation sales were not like this one, they didnt generate this many complaints. if this is what our convention center is going to support (the ripping off of locals) then i will not go to any other events. read the article from Ohio on this same company: http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2008/01/ix_ce...

at least the IX center listened to the people and actually shut it down AND refunded the people's money

The first six exhibitions booked at the downtown Lancaster, PA Convention Center in 2009 are "consumer shows". Is this what we should expect?

So glad I did a search and read all your posts. Can't thank you all enough! My husband and I were going to go to this same advertised sale being held at the Allentown Fairgrounds, Allentown, PA. After reading all your comments, we decided not to waste our time and money! Thanks again!!

Bongs are only drug paraphernalia because pot heads made it so, bongs were originally made to smoke tobacco . Its the same way with how homosexuals made the innocent word of gay into the symbol they use.

I would like to thank everyone for all their comments....there is a sale by the same company this coming weekend in Fresno, CA and my husband and I were considering going to the sale. I am so very happy that I read all of these comments first and we did not waste our time and hard earned money. Something needs to be done to stop these kind of sales from these misleading companies. They are most definitely doing quite a bit of false advertising in their radio ads.

I have flagged your post as abuse. Let's stick to the issue of the shitty liquidation sale, not use this board as a way to vent your ignorance.

What a wonderful show it was. I experienced such a warm welcome permeating my very being as I walked through the doors! The extravagant light reflection of the gold jewelry lit up my soul with delight. The pulsation of music vibrated through my torso to convulsions, and that was when I realized i was heading the wrong direction. As I turned the other way I fastened mine eyes upon the kitchen plus 2000 and realized there was still something worth living for!!! As I gazed upon the platform the charisma and caricature lured me to stay for the close. As I discovered that the 52 dollar machine was here only for 35, and that the taxes and shipping were paid for my spirit leaped inside me with jubilation, And I entered into rest in the decision as I handed him my credit card? He had made the show worth it, and the time that I now save with this exuberant machine has freed my life up to many hobbies! including but not limited to: extracting egg whites, chopping nuts and meats, making salsa and guacamole, making cole slaw and chicken salad, slicing tomatoes and corn off the cob, guillianing my french fries, shredding my cheese and making hash browns, beating cake mixes and omelets, and juicing my citrus!!!

Its good that the American Public (or at least what I can see on this board) are still stuck back in the 1940's. If the sale was bad, say so, but don't bring harmless people into a negative spotlight. If one of you walked into a venue and saw nice wine glasses and beer mugs and champagne for sale, it would be seen as a classy sale. What a disgrace.
