Section eight and water

We all know Section 8 types don't like water, and especially soap. Don't worry; the pool is safe.

To Stop the Insanity - I agree with you totally. I do see many satellite dishes at Section 8 housing units. And of course we know that every man, woman and child in this country has a cell phone no matter what their financial circumstance. I am over the ghetto people in their large vehicles, talking on the cell phones, parked in the no-park lane at Target chatting away while they wait for their homies to come out of the store. This happened yesterday, there was a total traffic jam because Tameka or Tawanna yakked and yakked on her cell phone, parked in the driving lane of the parking lot, not even curb side, but in the lane you drive through to get around the parking lot. It's going to be a very long Christmas shopping season, folks, and Hampton is a nightmare. I only hope that when the new Peninsula shopping center in Hampton is up and running that there is sufficient security and police presence.

My Cox service is terrible - I switched TV to DirectTV & it's fabulous. My Cox internet connection is so slow & drops connection all the time - I'm switching as soon as I can. But my Cox phone is OK.

Cox is way to expensive already considering the poor service they provide.

Any feedback on Verizons Fios? I am paying $64.95 amonth for extended digital cable. If the price keeps going up I will have to drop it. Any other systems people are using and want to give feedback on would be great.

Watch at Christmas when you shop. The welfare kids will get Nintendo Wii's, top of the line clothes, ipods, etc that will probably be bought on credit cards that will be destined to default. And once again, who ends up paying? The hard working, law abiding citizen when our fees go up and costs rise.

I switched to Verizon FIOS a couple months ago because Cox provided bad service, both technically and on the phone. With each successive repair, the tech would tell me that the previous tech had screwed up something. The final blow was the last repair atempt. The Cox tech suggested we switch to Verizon. He said Verizon's fiber optic service is 2 years ahead of where Cox is right now. No, I'm not kidding. I have enjoyed the service, the quality, and the considerate, prompt customer service. They have even called ME to find out how things are working. Switch NOW!

I tried Direct TV once..what a nightmare! Sure did get a lot of tv channels, tho...but then again, how many weather channels can you watch, how many religious channels can you watch. Cox is really getting pricey, but they do have some good content.
Direct TV is excellent -- but you have to know to demand a competent installer, since its hit or miss what moron shows up to do the install. They often send some boob out who doesn't even have the right equipment or antenna; I complain and then they send out a second, more competent installer. Also-- demand the best antenna available and DVR box and you get a better installer. You can get a bargain on the set, nearly free with a one or two year contract.
Once you finally get a competent installer, you will appreciate the extra channels, many of which cox does NOT carry, and the extra hi-def channels. Even the wires are better -- I had to swap out my dad's coax wire made of cheap black plastic supplied by cox with a much better coax wire from an extra directtv coax white wire. This fixed the interference problem and the fuzzy lines vanished.
Local cable companies are local monopolies that are fading fast. If and when you get fed up with cox, use directtv, not dish network, since dish's customer service is really awful, speaking from personal experience.

Just like the rest of Cox Communications. Everything about Cox sucks, especially Digital Max.
The put their commercials over program content. How many Cox commercials can one watch? They are as bad as Hanes Furniture, mabye worse. Every commerical break we get the same lies and crap.
Oh my God, If i see one more Cox commercial I may have a stroke. They run like 30 different commercials, all incredibly annoying and full of lies about how great their prices are. My bill has gone up and up while they air more and more crap ads. Digital Max? Bundle of savings making a sandwich? Give it a rest !!!!

Thanks Cox Comm. for the wake up call. After several years supplying my cable at $55. month and $20,000. later I called out Cox for a problem with dropped calls and computer disconnect problems. The tech. they sent out damaged a bed post and night stand. Their offer to remedy the damage was $175. from Eric in Cox claim dept. which was insulting and unacceptable, considering the value of the funiture and extent of the damage. But thanks for helping me see the light. The next 20K I spend won't be on cable, maybe a new motorcycle, car, real estate, stocks, investments, boat, travel, cruise ships, college, anything more tangible that a signal that shows countless re-runs.
No more Cox-sucker's in this house.
