Well, whether Frank likes the wiki site or not, it states that cougars ARE acknowledged to live and breed in abundance in "The Great Plains". This area includes all of Nebraska and Kansas and part of Oklahoma.
It also states that males are solitary and may travel up to 500 miles to BE solitary and escape the conflict of other males. Really so strange that they may wander into Missouri??
Frank, you have stated that you do not dispute if there are cougars in Missouri, but you ridicule everyone on here that says they have seen anything. What's your beef? Just being a jerk????

But WHY is the world would MDOC reintroduce such a poisonous snake to populated areas? That just doesn't make sense.
Are all of these reintroductions (cougar, wolf, Pygmy rattler, etc..) documented anywhere?
Any interesting sightings nearish to St Louis?
The MDC obviously has too much time and money.
How about those otters, snakes, and mountain lions?
Instead of investigating & confirming sightings of the lions for numerous years,
they've been busy trying to catch those famed noodlers in Missouri.
Regardless of what numerous fish biologist have concluded through years of studies that noodling has little to no effect on the catfish population of noodling or hand fishing, they are spending countless hours trying to scour every river in a quest to locate these sportsmen & women.
Legal in most of our border states...these Emmy Award Winning noodlers will keep practicing a sport that Native Americans and many ancestors have practiced since the 1800s.

Watch the Emmy Award winning movie "Catfish Hunters" featuring Missouri & Oklahoma Noodlers on youtube.

Here is the link to the program:

It really is a good program on Noodling.
I think if you want to use your hands to catch a catfish you ought to be able to do it.

The reason MDC doesn't want to believe there are cougars in MO is because they'd have to set aside funds and change laws concerning them. It easier and cheaper for MDC to keep denying the whole thing.
