It is ironic that a story about the very recent Treasure Hill tour appears in the same issue as the impatient Mr. Van Hecke's letter of complaint. The Sweeneys have been waiting patiently to move forward with plans that were approved many years ago; they have been generous with their time, their efforts, and their respources to accommodate public needs and concerns. Van Hecke, on the other hand, can hardly wait to see his name in print again, and wants HIS story front and center, right away. I applaud the Sweeneys for their patience and forebearance, and wish that Van Hecke would learn from them. His prima donna act is getting tiresome.

New in Town - plans were never approved, a concept was. Don't put propaganda out there.

Yes, they were. The Sweeneys secured approval for the master plan in 1986 in exchange for dedicating 112 of the family’s acres to open space. For them to proceed they must meet 15 conditional use permits, but the master plans was definitely approved. The Sweeneys have been generous and fair, and in return the city has been deceptive and untrustworthy. So take back your OWN propaganda.

laf - that is exactly what i am saying. they have no specific approvals AND they are requesting an vastly increased density. I hope they _do_ build something, but I certainly hope it isn't what they presented most recently.

lawyers will ultimately decide this as they always do here.
