dont make it a race thing, white or black it is annoying when someone pulls out their phone in the movies. If they do not kick out the one's using their phone then what should they say to the people that are making the complaints?

Obviously you're not black so you would never understand where I'm coming from.

I first want to start out by saying that my fiancé was kicked out of the Greensboro, NC Four Seasons Station 18 movie theatre on 10/23/1009 at 8:00pm for using the internet on his cell phone. I feel that the movie theater managers specifically targeted the African American movie theater showing the new movie "Good Hair." My fiancé was asked to leave; we did not know of the theaters new no cell phone policy. We were not given a warning or anything, just blatantly asked to leave. I felt discriminated against. All the managers and security guards were white and they were specifically coming into the all African American movie showing looking around. There were several other African American people that were also kicked out. I felt this was institutional racism at its best. Neither I, nor the 9 family members that were with me will ever return to your movie theatre. The managers were extremely rude and were only kicking African Americans out of the theater; from what I observed they were not monitoring any other movies. When my family and I entered the movie room, we noticed a security guard standing on one side of the door. I found this to be odd, but none the less I and my family continued in and sat down. I left out and went to use the restroom and I noticed that the security guard had stopped two African American males and asked to see their ticket stubs. Once I came back into the theatre I noticed the security guard had stopped two more African American males and asked to see their stubs. All four men showed their stubs. There were no managers and no security guards outside of any of the other movie rooms, only the room that was showing the African American film,“Good Hair.” No one was guarding or being kicked out of the movie “Zombieland” or “Couple's Retreat.” I was embarrassed when my fiancé was asked to leave. As an African American female, this is the first time in my life that I have ever experienced discrimination. Obviously, in this case African Americans were being targeted. Sunday night in my family is movie night. I along with my fiancé, my 2 sisters and their husbands, my mother and father and my two nephews attend a movie at your theater religiously, every Sunday. As a family we spend, on average,$135 a week at your theater. Needless to say we will never attend this theatre or any other Grand Theater again.
I am a white american and if you do the crime do the time. Poor little us we are being picked on for being not white. RACE CARD DROPPED AT THE MOVIES. We used to got to that theather but after we had to all run outside due to some bro shooting the place up we let you have it and your toys so play on.

You're not worth my time you racist idiot. It's people like you that perpetuate the stereotype of how all whites truly are. I will be unsubscribing to the so don't bother commenting.

No warning or notice? Not sure about all theaters, but the one I attend has a 'Please turn off all cell phones' advertisement that comes on the screen prior to the movie beginning. I have a feeling that most theaters have this same ad running too. So when you see that ad, it means exactly what it says...turn them off, not don't answer but you can check texts. It means turn the damn things all the way off!!

I'm so glad they're finally doing something about these problems.. to the people who don't seem to get it, I paid to see the movie too, and if you're bored with it then get the ____ out and go somewhere else.

No one should have to be warned about cell phone use in a theater. Don't be an idiot. Besides, you're already warned with those cheesy little "Welcome to our theater" commercials play before EVERY MOVIE to not talk, not smoke, deposit your trash in the trash bins, were the exits are and to turn your cell phone off. No one should have to gently place a flier in your hand and help you read it for you to figure out that you're being rude.

to "Letter I Wrote"... I'd like to see how you knew who was being targeted; were you actually sitting in the theater when "Zombieland" and "Couple's Retreat" were going on to conduct your study, or are you just assuming that because you feel you were unfairly treated that they were targeting specific people? By the way, the no cell phone policy is not "new". They've been looking at ways to block cell phone use in theaters for years, but were not allowed to use any sort of signal blocking technology because it was deemed illegal. You just haven't paid attention to that commercial at the beginning of the movie because you were probably too busy on your cell phone to have noticed it.

I have been in the theater business for over 25 years and i can tell you a lot of things that has gone on over the years. Anyone who goes into a movie theater and gets out their cell phone does need to be kicked out, without a refund. Only if the policy is where everyone can see it. For the ones who say that you should be able to take out a cell phone and disturb everone in the movie please rethink, you shouldn't like the idea if i came into the dark movie and shined my 6 D cell flashlight i cary into your eyes. that is what you are doing to other people. People spend a lot of their hard earned money to come to the movies, if you can weed out the ones who disrespect others that you can have more people who would come and enjoy there selves, and the theaters would be more busyier. I believe this policy will be adoupted by all movie chains because of all the positive responce. Over the years i have done all i can to make the movie experience fun for all, Please keep coming to your local theater, as for myself i would like to make all of your theater experiences fun and enjoyable.

That is so lame to blame race on being kicked out of a movie for breaking the rules that is posted billboards against the cell phone use during the movie. I guess you didnt get there in enough time to read the big screen just before the movie starts that plainly says "Please turn your cell phones off during movie". Or you can not read. It has nothing to do with race. Im of color too, and I am sick and tired of everyone using the race card to try to get out of everything that our people do.

Michele, same goes to you
Ignorance on your part does not constitute a refund. But at least you didnt pull out the race card.
