Mr. Kane is right: where is the outrage? It seems as though we now react to real-life murders with the same sense of urgency we display when seeing the aftermath of a murder on "Law & Order."

Mr. Kane correctly pints out that we should all be aware and outraged at the events of this and other murders. I've lived in Baltimore (the city for 20 years, the county for 18) a long time and I can not wait to leave. I can't speak for all, but my feeling is - even tho there's a "new" mayor in the city, nothing has, nor will it ever, change, until the REAL problem is addressed. That is the culture of the people of Baltimore. I have had to move out of neighborhoods because the attitude of the people moving in is "you can't tell me what to do, I'm black." Crime goes up, I leave. It's a simple fact and until the people committing the crime want it to stop,the murders go on and the law abiding people will go somewhere else.

It will get worse before it gets better. The whole entire adminstration needs to be overhauled. The Baltimore City States Attorney's office is a total mess with poor adminstration. The Mayor is for self. She is more concerend about a underage kid riding a dirt bike and arrested and could care the less about the senseless murder of 2 people whether junkies or not someone loved them. the community does not care becuase the 2 victims are not from the community (narrow-minded). The slaying of a dope-sick junkie, taking "a ride" into a part of town notorious for acts of violence, with full knowledge through his own experiences of where he was going and the inherent dangers is not injustice. This was not Jason Woycio's first encounter with random violence nor his first trip down route 40 to cop dope. In fact Jason Woycio was an ill tempered man with a violent nature and a history of violent crime. His history of non-violent crime showed a blatant lack of respect for people and their personal property. It is easy to paint a less than harsh picture in death, but in life Jason Woycio was not all too different than the boy who shot him. The only injustice is the children that were left behind and murdered that day, because of two parents too self involved to realize the gravity of their choices and the impact of their actions on those closest to them.
