Texting drivers pose new threat on the road
“Regardless of what you think about talking on a cell phone while driving, many legislators think that texting while driving goes beyond what is appropriate behind a wheel”
During a break in classes at The University of Kansas, Charles Rombold has his cell phone ready for texting. via Topeka Capital-Journal

These things should be band. Our 13 year old grand daughter got one from her father and now she is falling behind in her school grades. I'm sure that she and her friends text each other during class. Her father has followed our advise and told her, if he didn't see a very big improvment in her grades, he was taking it. She still has it, but she is doing better. I wouldn't have given her one in the first place, but that's me.

Someone's just now figuring that out!!! Wow!!! It can't be banned because it can't be enforced - i.e.- someone looking over a persons shoulder all the time. BUT a law should be passed that if you get caught doing it, a ticket should be issued and heafty fine imposed. And if someone causes and accident, an even heaftier fine. Much heaftier!!!

Cell phone usage of any type by a driver should have a hefty fine attached.

Texting, together with putting on makeup and reading while driving should all be banned, and heavily fined. A driver should drive, no more, no less.

I read an article last night that said something like 320 accidents in Kansas in 2006 were the direct result of cell phones usage. 9 of those were fatalities. 9 lives could have been saved if people weren't being stupid.

Door King, as a former counselor, I think deep down you are a very insecure person, as you comments indicate. Your insults seem deliberate and are calculated to draw attention to yourself. |

Ever notice how his town changes regularly? Today he's in Topeka, KS and the last time he was trolling behind me, it showed Sylvan Grove, KS. He may be insecure, but he is at least smart enough to know that if any of his targets ever got a physical bead on him, he'd get his clock cleaned.
