I like Ludlow the way it is. This is one of the attractions for me...to be out of the rush of the current world. Dial up connections are slow, but I don't mind waiting. I do understand if people have to use the computer for their livelihood that dial up is way too slow. I don't mind living without a cell phone, but I guess for the fire department it would be beneficial. Going to the post office is fun, because that is where you see everyone. I like the 20th century atmosphere!

All of Warren County is backward & awkward. Political cronies and other crooks have been running Warren County into the ground since 1972. Lorrangers is gone. Warren didn't need them. PDM is gone. Warren didn't need them. Sylvania is gone. Warren didn't need them. Well, at least you still have United Refining for now, anyway. Oh yeah, Warren State Hospital should close. The sooner, the better. Only losers live in Warren County, Pennsylvania.

Ludlow is different than Warren, by far. Anyway, it is in McKean county. But you can't make a blanket statement like that about people...that everyone in all of Warren County is a loser. I mean you CAN say it, but is isn't common sense.

Some of the folks there are trapped by things like poverty, very high taxes and heavy-handed local government rules, regulations & laws that limit their ability to make progress. Take the price of milk for example. Here in Columbus, you can get it for $2.50/Gallon, and sometimes 3 gallons for $5.00, for all varieties, except buttermilk. Another is gas prices. They typically fun 25 to 30 cents cheaper than Warren & McKean Counties or anywhere in Pennsylvania, for that matter, except the Harrisburg & York areas, where it is only 16 to 20 cents more than Columbus. Granted, gas prices are very high, no matter where you go. Another is electricity rates. Over here in Columbus, the average rate is less than 6 cents per KWH. In Pennsylvania, it is almost twice that. In some instances, it's more than 12 cents over there. However, there is one thing about Pennsylvania that Columbus beat hands down. Your Public schools are among the best in the nation. Columbus Public Schools are by far among the very worst in the nation. If you plan to move to Columbus, that would be good if you don't have children. If you do children, I would highly recommend that you stay put. No child deserves to have a school system that tries to cover up such criminal activity as sexual assault as our district here has done in April 2005. They were unsuccessful in their attempt to do so. But as I have said, no child deserves that. Children need an environment that is conducive to learning, not crime.

That is an interesting comparison. You must have some knowledge of this area to make this comparison, maybe family in Warren? So, to balance out what you have said in your previous comment, I really can see how people get that impression from the town of Warren. Why did they build a WalMart when their other mall was going bankrupt? This combined with other things...but I am complaining. I really like it here in Ludlow, but my lifestyle is not like other people's lifestyles, anyway.

I have no idea why it says "Brockport" and then, "Glasgow" underneath my name. Probably because I have dial-up?

I really like it here in Ludlow, but my lifestyle is not like other people's lifestyles, anyway. I used to live in Warren County & Warren Boro. When I left in 1981, I didn't look back. I knew that Warren County was dying and if I didn't do something quick, my life would've gone down the drain and my dreams too. I didn't want to go at first, but I knew I had to. Once the decision was made, it was easy to just go. I have some very fond memories of the ordinary people in Warren County, but I have no time for your local government officials. They have gone out of their way to run the whole area into the ground. I hope that you will thrive & prosper in whatever you do. Most don't, but some do. Good luck & May God bless.

Ludlow PA is one of the best places to live. We are deffinitly in the middle of Allegheny Forest so deal with it. I've been here for 24 years and Its my hide away from the busy life of cities. The wild life in my back yard is amazing. How about a creek running through your back yard. I have the Kinzua Dam 8 miles away. Can't beat it here. No cell phone and internet sucks but I am a Happy Resident in Ludlow, PA.
