That housing building is in HK, I know in that type of housing, the restroom is just a hole on the floor with two raised blocks fit user's feet, that type is in the old day and even today in most Asia county. I dont blame that, one time I work with the big big PCB mfg company and they hire lots of Chinese workers from China, those workers complained about the standard toiletbow which user put their ass sit on it, they can not make shit, because they are not used to and the company has to remove/replace with old toilet seat from China :)

That story is Mao's ideology story, he wants his revolution to raise Chinese standard living and during his term, hundred millions of Chinese got killed because hungers and starvation, torture and revegn, obviously you can read in the history.
