Gillett Evernham has told Patrick Carpentier that he's free to sign with someone else because they don;'t have a sponsor for him for next year.

[Carpentier, on the other hand, took a team that was out of the top 35 and qualified it nearly every week. He even won a pole. Does anyone think Sorenson could have done that?
Carpentier deserves a shot with a top-flight team, but it doesn't look like he'll get one. With his qualifying ability he might end up with a team like Wood Brothers that needs to make the field on speed each week.
But wouldn't it be deliciously ironic if he ended up taking over Sorenson's ride at Ganassi?]

OMG I didn't think that Patrick could end up in the #41 at Ganassi but I love it! Switch places with Reed essentially!

Reed or Elliott S. are not the talent that Carpentier is.
