You obviously haven't visited Calgary or Vancouver for more than a couple of days! Ask about Ralph Klein's by - laws, lol. They would rather pay bus fare for people to move to Winnipeg than give them Social Services in Calgary. You can't hitch hike in Calgary since the sixties, where do you see natives in Calgary - not much downtown - to unwelcome there. You don't see the poor in Calgary, they have been made invisible but they are there. Worse based on the repetitive cycle of boom and bust someone who was verging on wealthy last year is likely the poor in four to eight years.

BC continually pushing the poor out of their downtown for Expo's and Olympics etc. Not racist toward Asian people and all people who have just come there because of their climate. Read the forum. They keep referring to the good old days before anyone from outside came along. They are not interested in you moving there. If you did you would have to watch out for the addicts and the gangs there. Wpg does not have a monopoly on that.

Grow up Jan. Do something to improve your city or take a hike.

Putting the Human Rights Museum would be like putting a diamond ring n a pig's snout. Read the topix blogs on this city below to see why! For one thing, it is probably the most inhositable city, the unfriendliest, the coldest (Both wheather wise and people wise); J.J. Harper, racism, first city to criminalize squeegee kids, first to have panhandling by-law, vagrancy by-law. etc etc etc..repressing the porest of the poor...Calgary, Edmonton, even Toronto or Ottawa, but Winnipeg!!??? Insanity.

Who cares what Montrealers think? Seriously, you would think they were Torontonians for all their self-important, arrogant thinking.
Maybe they are just jealous, I mean, at least in Winnipeg people support the arts. That's what people from Quebec are ALWAYS telling me. Quebec is very over-rated. They are to be pitied, really.....so many women looking like particularly bad Mila Mulroneys in drag (post extensive plastic surgery of course) Ugh. No grace or class.:)
well torontonians are arrogant so yea only you would think like that of montrealers

Snotty Quebecois, snottier Montrealer, you certaily sound and smell like the arrogant parochials that occupy the village called Toronto aka pigtown. Quebecois get off ur poutine fattened asses and take a trip to Winnipeg, you might even encounter Franch Canadian culture in La ville du Winnipeg/Ste. Boniface, along with German, English Scottish Irish Ukrainian, Polish Jewish and aboriginal. Get a life you insular revisionists in ontario and quebec, you in no way are ALL that Canada is about. This man from Southern California will have no problem going to Winnipeg to sample her architecure, culture, food ,art and fare so what the hells ur problem Quebecois???

I agree with most of what you said, but after living there for 4 yrs, I cant think of one biulding that demonstrates "good architecture". And even though Im a Canuck from northern Ontario, I do find the winters there held me hostage to the indoors.

Bienvenue a Manitoba, Who knows Quebecois since you now have the "revenge of the Abortion mill" and "morning after pill" and no longer believe in the "revenge of the cradle", there wouldn't be enough of you left in a generation or two to organize a group visit to Winnipeg or anywhere else. You sound like the arrogant oh so cool torontonians, is that what you want to project to the World Quebec?

Hey pitterpatter, their Parliament buildings alone are famous architectually even here in southern California, had friends visit it said it out did the capitol in Washington, their neo gothic churches and turn of the century neighborhoods are favorite haunts lately for Hollywood productions not to mention the exchange district, theater district and garment district. As for winter in Winnipeg ya bet you could freeze ur ass off at -40 f, but try Festival du voyageur, skating on the Red or just gettin out and sampling the food (wish we had food that good here in LA & Orange county). Or if you live in Winnipeg in the Winter you can just stay piss ass drunk for four months.
