Just out of interest I thought I would tell you that the Giant Hogweed, three of them, were located along the driveway of the Wainwright home on 6570 Waegwoltic Ave 25 years ago. It was thought to be very deecorative and the owner cut one and brought the plant into the house to dry and it hung on the wall until a couple of years ago when it was disposed of. She received no burns and they were no problem to anyone. The three plants came up three years in a row and then just died out. I expect that she wore gloves and didn't come into contact with the leaves by luck.

She could have brought the seeds from NL but not sure. Etta

The owner cut one down, without receiving any cuts, or burns, dried it out and it hung in the dining room until a couple of years ago at which time we disposed of it.

She may well have brought the seeds from a trip to NL, or maybe a bird dropped the seed.

So, this plant is not new to the area. Just more of it I think. Etta
