how come the middle aged men who defend winnipeg only say "if you don't like it here, just leave". can they not find any reasons to why winnipeg is such a paradise to them?

Haha, lolz.

"OMG many guyz here make threads about 'winnipeg sucks' so I'm gonna make it too! im gonna assume they are middle aged and use a unregistered account and not post why i think winnipeg sucks! this will be like sooo cool, so unique of me!'

There are many places way worse than Winnipeg. There are better places than Winnipeg. Winnipeg is pretty nice. Maybe not so much in winter, but all cities have their pros and cons.

Be grateful with what you have. Be grateful you weren't born in a third world country or some crappy US City.

It makes sense to say 'if you don't like it, leave' because whining about it isn't going to fix anything. Can't YOU find any reasons to why NOT moving out of Winnipeg is the best thing for you? I mean, whining in forums about it and doing nothing in real life about it says a lot. ;)

Why live in a place that you hate? Just move the hell out and go searching for your 'paradise'. Good luck with that!

you forgot to add the "many" in "better places". there are MANY better places than winnipeg. i find it hilarious that you have to compare winnipeg to a god damn third world country in terms of living. a first grader would obviously know whats a better place to live, try comparing winnipeg to other cities in canada, where its one of the worst cities to live in.

oh, and i cant move out of this city in a day, so dont come at me with that "move out" non sense.

If I owned Winnipeg and Hell, I'd live in Hell, and rent out Winnipeg to some poor sucker.

Disregard that, I'm in Winnipeg so my comment is useless. If I owned ANYTHING, I'd live in it, and wouldn't be a poor sucker.

Winnipeg Safeway at Ness and Sturgeon employees are rude and unpleasant.
Also: The security there who are in ordinary clothes are very obvious and actually rude. This guy who follows people around is obvious and follows only certain people who some of the employees have picked out and don't like for whatever reason.
This is petty and ignorant. The security morons who follow and spy on certian people as they shop make themselves obvious on purpose to actually 'intimidate ' certain people who some or even just one! employee does not like! How petty and imature! And some may say -'this is the way Winnipeg is! But I don't believe that, peopleare different everywhere ...but these people are very imature and bullying and 'ignorant' like hicks or hillbillies. I hear they are especially watching native people which is racist!

Is there a problem here in Winnipeg with people who work in public??? The Safeway at Ness and Sturgeon have administrators/staff who 'target' certian regular shoppers for no good reason. I have been 'targeted' and followed around many times. The securtiy guy who wears ordinary clothes makes himself very obvious and I think he is trying to 'intimidate' just because one of the stock people doesn't like me. This is very immature and ignorant. It is also very unethical and mean spirited.

I have heard many neighbors in the area of Sturgeon and Ness who have said the security and some staff there are rude and try to make them feel uncomfortable. These people are mostly native people and are nice law abiding citizens!

As these childish and nasty emplyees of Safeway Canada at Ness and Sturgeon in Winnipeg Manitoba continue myself and others will file a class action law suit if it continues very soon.

Their behaviour is akin to mob mentality and 'witch hunting'- i.e. because one member of a store dislikes someone for no particular reason - they get the rest to annoy and intimidate. This is a very distasteful , immature
and cowardly, not to mention showing a great lack of 'class' in this particular Safeway Canada at Sturgeon and Ness in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.

I have always found the staff at Safeway to be very courteous, polite, helpful, and friendly. I shop at several different Safeway stores and have found this to be the case at every one of them.

I have to agree. Not too friendly for sure. Maybe their administration is a problem. When you work somewhere that has poor administration or thej bosses are morons it effects the staff - the employees are 'told' what to do. Maybe the staff should inform the headquarters in the US. if their bosses are intrusive to customers and rude.. I understand they have had complaints abut Ness and Sturgeon Safeway before from ..

Well if you lived there for 30 years you must have been buried in shit 2 stories high. really how constructive is your comment, how factually is it. You manage to live in a place for 30 years and nothing.good came out of it Your pathetic!

There are beautiful trees that arch over many of the streets in the summer in full greenery. In some neighbourhoods home owners plant gardens not only in their yards but also on the boulevards. There are nice little drives like the River Road run north of the city. The museum, for a city this size, is well presented. In fact there isn't an art that is not well represented. Wpg ballet has an excellent reputation. The children's museum is fun. Lots of choice of restaurants. The frost on the trees in the winter is the stuff that Christmas cards are made of. Skating miles down the river in the winter, cross country skiing in Bird's Hill park and having hot chocolate in the coffee shop. Festivale where fiddlers tickle your toes.Being of modest income and owning a home. Socials, referred to by one blogger of Winnipeggers being cheap and paying their weddings from the proceeds. It is an old European custom and it it is about not starting life out owing people and still getting the things you need. You don't get six toasters here. That kind of thinking is either understood or not.People knowing one another for thirty, forty , fifty years. It is a hard country, harsh winters, insects and only the tough have ever survived it.

I, who live in the ghetto, also appreciate the fact that I went to a school where they taught sentence construction.

Winnipeg is not a perfect place it was just a response to another writer. You felt like you had to stick another knife in,didn't you.No question mark is required.
