some americans have questioned why canadians are the way they are. first of all, understand as an american that much of what canadians do and how they percieve themselves has to with canadians jealousy and envy of the united states. of course canadians will deny they are jealous of america, but they are. canadians also have an inferiority complex. you may have heard of the anti-americanism in canada. it's not the dangerous antiamericanism found in the middleast. canadians aren't going aroung murdering americans. it's a friendly, competetive anti-americanism. canada's envy is like a neighbor who is jealous because his next door neighbor has a hotter gorlfriend, a beautiful mistress, more cars , a bigger house and a higher-paying job. canadians are jealous because many of their most prominent citizens prefer to live in the united states. and they especially hate being mistaken for americans abroad. wayne gretzky, the greatest canadian, chose to become an american citizen and married an american woman. many canadians have never been able to overcome this. the canadian tourists you see are probably just glad to be out of canada, especially in the winter. the fact that canada is so cold also has an effect on canadians. many flee south for the winter. so that why canadians are the way they are , to any americans who are interested.

The thing a lot of americans have an over abundance of that Canadians lack is self importance. We more pity than envy you.Overall our standard of living is better, cleaner air,a lot less attitude, prettier, brighter women.Higher scores on I.Q tests, less pointless flag waveing, and our leader is not a retarded ape.Yeah it's cold in the winter, but it keeps americans out.Do some research before you run your moronic mouth.Your climate is better, but at 40 you look like prunes from the sun. Envy you? Get serious.

I find it frustrating reading your comments and its not about your narrow minded view about Canada. The problems are the many grammatical mistakes you made and it makes me feel I am talking to a 5th grader or someone down south. hattiesburg american wrote: some americans have questioned why canadians are the way they are. first of all, understand as an american that much of what canadians do and how they percieve themselves has to with canadians jealousy and envy of the united states. of course canadians will deny they are jealous of america, but they are. canadians also have an inferiority complex. you may have heard of the anti-americanism in canada. it's not the dangerous antiamericanism found in the middleast. canadians aren't going aroung murdering americans. it's a friendly, competetive anti-americanism. canada's envy is like a neighbor who is jealous because his next door neighbor has a hotter gorlfriend, a beautiful mistress, more cars , a bigger house and a higher-paying job. canadians are jealous because many of their most prominent citizens prefer to live in the united states. and they especially hate being mistaken for americans abroad. wayne gretzky, the greatest canadian, chose to become an american citizen and married an american woman. many canadians have never been able to overcome this. the canadian tourists you see are probably just glad to be out of canada, especially in the winter. the fact that canada is so cold also has an effect on canadians. many flee south for the winter. so that why canadians are the way they are , to any americans who are interested.

Canada was recently voted as having a standard of living SEVEN times better than the USA. Maybe someone can explain why Canadians would envy the americans...

Our tax base is much more favorable than you have it in Canada. A married person making 100k a year gets to keep 80% or more of it. Some states don't even have income taxes! - We can write off our mortgage on our taxes. - You can get an MRI the same day own here when it's a month or two wait in Winnipeg. - buy beer and alcohol at the gas stations or supermarkets. - case of beer $15.00 - pack of cigs $2.50 - gas $2.35 a gallon - 1.75L of vodka $9.95 The list goes on......

If you are an ex-Jet you would know that if it was a medical emergency you would get your MRI in a very timely fashion. If your experience was otherwise it is because you went to an emergency department or a doctor whining about something that they were confident was not life threatening or urgent. Not paying taxes has eventual consequences. If I looked at the US ten years ago I might have agreed that, some places for some people, it was a wonderful place from an economic standpoint to be living. There are though many parts of the US that are as undesirable as Winnipeg supposedly is. I know I have walked some of those streets in years gone by. Offering beer and cigarettes as examples of great deals says a lot. It is okay I will be in NY in about two weeks and I will check out milk, bread etc. I am not slamming the US, it is a great country but for people who call Canada home it rings just as beautifully.
