Winnipeg: Canada's worst city!!!

[Winnipeg sucks.... those who say "if you don't like it, leave"- hey, what do YOU love about this place anyways? Have you even been outside of Winnipeg to see how crappy we have it here?
And if you live in Winnipeg and hate it, it's not that easy just to pick up and move someplace else. If it was, Winnipeg would have a population of about 46 people.
/QUOTE]
Actually Glen, it IS that easy. If your job is crappy, then what's keeping you? If your job is good then what have you got to complain about? I've left it several times, but never because I disliked it. That's why I keep coming back. It is true that you can't experience everything here, but that is also true of every else. I've spent time in many, many places, have visited almost all of Asia, Europe, and North America, but very few places offer the balance of life and work that we enjoy here, the clean air, land and water, or the ability to become a homeowner so painlessly.
In short Glen, and all other who are posting like this; every city is what you make of it, and yes some do have certain advanteages, but no matter what, if you go around hating everything then nothing will ever be good enough for you.

Wpg is full of people not respecting one another. What ever happened to the customer is always right thing? Wpg is full of ignorance in the business market, and the public services. I can conclude it as it is the same as the way people go on about the way they treat each other. I guess maybe after you've been spoon fed violence for so long, that a little conflict like when you are unhappy with a purchase and voice your complaint, your treated like a criminal, and probably escorted out of the building by security. I went to get my daughters health card and there was security there?? It is so out of touch here that people living here don't realize it, because it was, and is, a slow transition to a nonfunctional system. I guess that's what happens when things aren't addressed and remedied to accommodate a righteous way of life. What ever happened to compassion for your fellow man here - non-existent.

I can list numerous blasphemies here that leave me in aggravation. I am a struggling single Dad and rely on some public services. The people that I call don't even call you back, and when you have to call back & back to finally speak to someone, if you show some frustration "click", say bye-bye to that phone call, but that's the way it is here because of the violence and corruptness.

Winnipeg is unprofessional when it's compared to other bigger cities.

side note - remember that little old lady of I think 80ish coming back from Christmas shopping at Garden City Shopping Center about 20 yrs. ago?
Well she was beaten to death by youths wanting here items.
That's maybe when the young offenders act should have been adjusted for the youths in Manitoba. Maybe people here could hold there heads up a little higher here, rather always come out swinging when backed into a corner (a defensive mechanism so readily administered in Wpg)

*Just some observations after being here for 3 yrs since living in Calgary for 10*

P.S. I grew up here from 1983-2000.

I've had had so much fun reading all of your posts, and I couldn't agree more! Unfortunately, I live in Winnipeg, but only because family and work are here, that's it! I would much rather move back east where I originated. People are rude (for some unknown reason), cheap, the so said things to do, are a joke, and there are WAY TOO MANY natives. Almost makes you feel like you ARE living on a reserve. Maybe that's why people here are so miserable because they are sick of having to pay and pay and pay for self entitled, rude natives!
TOO MANY NATIVES! Perhaps you should get a dictionary and read the definition of "Native". Canada has beeen home to "Natives" for Eons (an eon is 1000 years). Whites have been in Canada for about three Centuries (100 years if ya don't know). So you sound really fucking stupid when you say Too Many Natives. Thats just fucking nazi bulshit. why don;t you fire up your ovens and take it public? That is- If you REALLY believe in what you are saying. Good luck. I can just hear you now- ": whaaaa. For some unknown reason an "indian" stabbed me. Now THAT would be sweet justice.

Winnipeg has quite literally evolved into an urban prison. You're probably safer living in a real prison; I'll bet there's probably fewer stabbings per year for all Canadian jails combined than there is for Winnipeg.

Too many drunk natives!! They ruin the downtown. Oh well, what more can you expect from the NDP welfare utopia.

How about too many dysfunctional Natives? It's a well known fact that native reserves were and still are possibly the worst idea ever conceived, mainly because it's seperation of race. Think about it... you isolate a race of people out in the wilderness and give them little more to do other than abuse alcohol and solvents while the feds keep throwing more money at the mess, and what you end up with is a lot of angry people with an axe to grind. Where do they target their anger? At the people they believe are responsible for their third-world living conditions, and that would be the white man and the society he created. Segregation of race has always been a bad idea, and residential schools were no better. Just think for a moment if things had been done differently; if there were no reserves or residential schools... I doubt Winnipeg's core and downtown would have the image and problems it has today.

The NDP did not invent welfare. It was invented in Britain where your relatives used it.

When you segregate a population it evolves into a monopopulation like we've seen with blacks, Asian and Whites did when they migrated out of Africa, but were separated by long distances.. BUT, when you have dysfunctional people, it evolves into a dysfunctional monopopulation. At least thats what Homer Simpson said.

However, you surely must be intelligent and well informed enough to know that IP addresses change with your travels. Therefore, you are completely full of shit and you know it. Move along folks, nothing to see here...

As much as I can't stand WinnerPig, I have to salute those who showed up at the Ledge and celebrated 420 in earnest. Great demonstration people!

Why criticize Litter Peg then salute its biggest losers? Are you pro-alcoholic too? These scumbags will produce the next generation of welfare bums and Mainstreet Project clientle. Its a 420 celebration of DUH.

Alcohol is a very dangerous drug. Pot should be legalized so the government can stop wasting its time persecuting non-criminals while at the same time making a handsome tax revenue and cutting into the proceeds of organized crime. Makes sense, doesn't it? But thanks to the crooks in the Reagan, Bush Sr/Jr, and now the Obama administration, this will never happen in Canada. Sad and very stupid.

Yes, it is for you Marklar! I'm glad you're not mixing alcohol with your anti-psychotic meds. The results could be catastrophic. For most of us though, moderate use of alcohol is actually considered to have health benefits and all research shows that those who drink moderately have fewer health problems and live longer than those who do not drink at all.
