It's just two freaking bottles. Lighten up, Miss Poopy-Pants. The kids don't even remember and they got picked up anyway. No big deal.

Picked up by a different family ten years later. Only one of the bottles,... the other is still liter somewhere.
Let's see, two bottles for every family that hits the beach and soon the planet is covered by plastic beaches.

If every dead donkey was thrown in a well we'd run out of drinking water.(-;

It's a delightful story.
As for litter, it's not as if every family is out sending plastic bottle messages. Also, it was over a decade ago when less attention was paid to the effect of such on the environment.
