... Meanwhile, at around 7 p.m. a head-on collision in the intersection of Major Mackenzie Dr. and Islington Ave. in Vaughan left one woman dead at the scene, according to York Regional police.

Emergency responders had to cut a second person out of their car after the crash. The second driver was taken to Sunnybrook hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

No one else was injured in the crash.

Major Mackenzie was closed between Pine Valley Dr. and Hwy. 27 as police investigated the crash ...
