I have sat at home for almost a week wondering what is so wrong in the world that the murder of a little girl can garner such little interest and such little shame and shock. A picture of Aielah was posted in our coffee room and when the news came of a female body found, I just prayed that it wasn't her. I had looked at her face so many times. People in malls and out doing routine business are heard making comments that she was probably in the wrong place. How is it possible that that is the one thing that people choose to focus in on? The focus should be on the fact that somewhere out there is someones husband, son, father, some male relative that has murdered a little girl!! We have got to as a society stop putting the blame on the victim and place it where it lies. Where was your husband, son, father?

Yes, so telling that the death of a child brings scarcely a ripple. What kind of society permits these murders to happen?

Does anyone know the time of day when her body was found?

I am moving to Terrace BC with my children, one is a 13 year old girl, this summer. I have already had my daughter read a number of articles about these murders. I have talked with her about how some of these girls might have known and trusted the person(s) who did this to them and how some might have known their killer as a stranger. I remind her of the importance of always letting someone in her family know where she is and who she is with at all times. I would encourage anyone with a son or daughter anywhere in Canada to do the same. Lets keep our children safe until this person is caught! AMW should do a piece on this!

in regards to sheila, i think that you should be a little more easy going, you know how do you know its a male? how canu say its someones husband, father, brother,?? how bout you, your mom,,your sister, anyone is capable of doing something like this,. its the disregarding, mentally challenged people that go through with it. so think about who you try to accuse, because you know. not every male could be a murderer.

Iv lived in and around the Terrace area my hole life 30 years.I like you am raiseing my 14 year old daughter here and I can understand your concerns, but you have done all we can educate the girls.I know 2 of the missing highway of tears girls,my daughter knows one of them,so she understands how serious it is.But she is still a teenager.I just pray she thinks when it counts, because Id be lost if my daughter was the next victum.but reality is she or one of her friend could be IF we dont find the person responsible.
But Terrace is a great little town,Please dont let the missing girls stop you from comeing and enjoying the great things Terrace has to offer.

I am curious about your quote...."The disregarding mentally challenged people that go through with it".
I do not believe being mentally challenged will make you commit a crime. Very intelligent genius type people commit the same crimes. What this is, is a person with a total disregard for human life....a pervert of the lowest form of pond scum ....a man...and I believe it is a man, not a woman who committed these crimes, who cannot keep himself in the line of sanity and is a danger to our society.
Our laws are too lenient in Canada for these types and they know it.
If you are suggesting a woman did this, then what would make you think that?
Women usually kill men, in a fit of uncontrolled rage.....women will kill other women out of jealousy, but only in relationship type situations where another woman is in the way....and yet we have the black widow types. I doubt that is what is going on with the "highway of tears". It is another one of those sad stories like the "green river" story where it will take years to catch the killer as cops only have so much to go on. We are not as efficient as the CSI programs you watch on television.
I hope they catch the animal soon. When it is proven it is the man, I hope somebody accidentally shoots him in the head and gets rid of him. He doesn't deserve to be fed three meals a day watching television in protective custody in prison for the rest of his life on taxpayers money.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Scorpio

The thought of the sales is almost too good to resist today, and you'll jump at the chance to see what's on offer. Even better if you can snap up some bargains at the same time. It's certainly a good day for investing your money carefully, but make sure you aren't more seduced by the reduction in the cost of something than in the item itself. Are you certain that you want to buy it?
