A & D Movers
These guys were on time, never stopped moving and were friendly, polite and efficient. Their prices are upfront with no obligatory "extras." Highly recommended.

Avoid AMJ at all costs, Beware...
1- Their estimation is wrong by far.
2- Their 3 men per hour barley work as 2 men per hour. The smell of Alcohol were awful.
3- The credit card were charged more, due to their accounting mistakes.
4- They will not respond to any email after they got their money.
5- If they say Anytime Anywhere, don't trust them, it is a big lie.
6- Many holes in the walls, 50% of the furniture were not assembled.
7- Many boxes were not in place.

i moved with iMove Mississauga, which i believe is a division of iMove Canada and was very happy with their service. we paid $90 per hour for a 3 man crew, which is nowhere close to $50 advertised by some other companies and still well below AMJ Campbell's pricing. however, our 2 bedroom place was moved in 5 hours as promised with no surprise costs.

when you choose a mover, see if the given price even makes sense for a business to exist. who will run a proper moving company with insurance and own trucks and charge you $39.99 per hour? i wouldn't!

just my 2 cents. and good luck with your move ;)

Has anyone heard of the Toronto movers called, "Best Way to Move?"
I had somebody in for an estimate, which was reasonable, but I cannot find a single review of their company. Thanks!
I cannot state strongly enough DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! "Best Way to Move" is the worst company I've ever dealt with.

Here's my experience with them, with a small move from a 1-bedroom apt:
They were booked to show at 1 p.m. but called at 11:30 a.m. to say that it was too hot that day so they weren't going to come. I had no choice but to move out of my place that day so I finally managed to talk them into coming after 4.
When they got my stuff to the new house, they wouldn't carry it up the stairs to the apartment on the first floor. While they had half the truck unloaded and sitting on the porch they demanded full payment right then, or else they threatened they would drive away with the rest of my stuff (they'd left all the electronics/expensive stuff on the truck). Since I had hired them to actually move the items into my apartment, I argued that they should finish the job and then they'd get paid. The very threatening head mover claimed that until I paid them they owned everything that was still on the truck and that even if I paid them they wouldn't be moving anything into the apartment because of the heat. Oh yeah and I was still being charged the full price! Things were getting so ugly that I finally just paid them off to get them to leave the property. I ended up having to hire another moving company to come in and carry my couch/bed/etc. up the stairs to my apartment.

I'm wondering if Logan?L&G are the same as Comfortable Movers, aka Desi Movers? They have the exact same MI. A friend of mine got scammed the same way - hidden charges (extra charge per man/per stair) they only took cash, loaded her stuff up, then refused to move it until she dished up 3x the original estimate. She called the police who were able to talk them down to a lesser amount, but they just dumped her stuff all over the front yard at her new place. Note of caution: beware of any company that only accepts cash and that demands more than $100 up front, and be sensible -$40hr is not a reasonable amount to pay for a decent moving service. Those guys probably only get paid $10hr. These guys are definitely crooks but you get what you pay for. I've heard good things about Joe the Mover ($85hr for 2 men,$95 for 3) and el Cheapo Movers (not sure what their rate is).

I sent a very bad review into Goldbook about Complete Movers (A.K.A. CMS, Preferred Movers, Logan Movers, Logan Moving and Storage) and it was never printed. When I contacted Goldbook as to why, they told me they forward them to the owners of the company, who have to approve the reviews, and Goldbook never checks the source of the reviews. I believe the two reviews you see for them were submitted by Complete/Logan themselves. BE AWARE AND SPREAD THE WORD!
Always look movers up with the Better Business Bureau before using them. Only use movers that you have gotten references from - ask your friends, family, co-workers. I wouldn't totally trust these online forums either - how do you know that it's not the moving companies themselves posting positive reviews?

Hi,

I can just suggest to avoid "Capital Moving Services Inc."
Their price is not very bad, not cheap either. But their service is SUCKS. I had a terrible experience with them.

Good Luck

I hired the service of Comfortable Movers and my contact person is Harry. He told me over the phone he will charge me $40/hour and $20 transfer fee plus one hour travelling time. They asked me for downpayment of $450 and will return my extra upon completion of job. They did not even help in bringing stuffs to the truck. All they did was carry two wardrobes. We arranged our things in their truck.

When we went to the second place to get more items, they asked for another $200. I called Harry but he said it's company rule. I gave him $150 just to finish things because they are wasting time calling their company. All they brought down was parts of the bed that we dismantled. They won't go to the final destination if I don't pay them the total charge which is $1,081 or else they will unload everything and will just leave it at the parking lot. My husband said we will just pay because we are left with no other choice. When they finished unloading at the final place, they were just making phone calls. They just left us from there.

I need refund of my money.

Does anyone have any experience with R&K Transmove? We have hired them, but I'm beginning to worry, due to the lack of reviews (positive or negative) on the internet.

Here is a review I found for RK Transmove. Sorry, it doesn't look good.

http://homestars.com/reviews/30688...

I have found that the movers who advertise the most are the most suspect. I found the HOMESTARS website extremely helpful when looking for a mover.

Best of luck to you!

DO NOT USE "COMFORT MOVERS" OR "DESI MOVERS"

They are not honest.
They first fix 200$ cost. Then move all your stuff out and ask for 600 $.IF you refuse they go keeping all stuff out...and you have to pay.
THay ask for advance money.
One of my friend called comfort movers.
A guy came and ask for 200$ advance and then go off...while calling to office no good responce...after investigating with others so many people had bad experience with those movers!.

I hired GTA movers, who subcontracted to Logan Movers. They arrived 4 hours late, after saying they were involved in an accident. They asked me to sign an outrageous contract with additional cost per piece of furniture, dispatching fee and per step. After getting upset with them they grabbed my deposit money ($200) and left, telling my I owe them for the inconvenience. Following them out, I took a picture of their license plate, and in the cab they had ski masks on. I filed a police report. They confirmed the truck had NOT been involved in an accident and suggested it was a ploy to make me more anxious about getting moved on time and willing to sign whatever they gave me.
DO NOT SUPPORT GTA OR LOGAN MOVERS
