LOOKING FOR REVIEW of Toronto Movers

I used Metro Pacific Movers after reading the reviews here (and after originally booking Husky Movers, which I'd promptly cancelled after reading further into their little "operation").

I LOVED METRO PACIFIC MOVERS!

I moved on May 2, 2012... they arrived on time after calling to confirm, the two guys worked really well together, they were affable and understanding of my high stress about the move... they did a quick walk-through of what was being moved, confirmed the price set with Simba on the phone and just got to work.

I did have my boyfriend there to lend a hand... mostly bringing boxes to the elevator... but they took care of loading and unloading the elevator, loading the truck appropriately (and they showed up with a bunch bigger truck than I'd anticipated - yay!), they handled everything with care and they barely took long enough a break to drink the water I kept pushing unto them.:-)

When all was packed, they asked me how I preferred them to get to my new address and remained in cellphone contact throughout. They arrived in a timely fashion, miraculously maneuvered that big truck into the tiny parking lot of my new building and set to work again. They were also genuinely apologetic that some of my clothing, which I'd bagged in large black garbage bags before hanging on a rolling garment rack, had fallen off the rack in transport. Like I cared they were so wonderful!

They didn't bat an eyelash about putting furniture and pilling boxes precisely where I wanted.

I also didn't expect to move my large guilt mirrors with them, but they came equipped and assured me all would be fine. And it was. OOH ooh and they moved by big potted plants too! Some companies warn that they won't.

When all was said and done (and I regrettably could no longer offer them water as all my glasses were in boxes), they made me look carefully into the truck that nothing was left behind, they had me confirm the form they'd had me fill out... cut me some slack on the time, as I'd cut some slack on their arrival time (they arrived at 2:44 and didn't get to moving boxes till 2:55 at least, but I'd written 2:40 on their start sheet) and because I think I was so nice to them... I paid in cash, left them a tip ($15 each - I just couldn't afford $20 each), which they seemed genuinely surprised and really grateful to get (do some people actually NOT tip the movers?? wtf?).

These two Jamaican guys were my favorite guys that day... and they made what could have been a really stressful event (I'm a tad ocd and controlling) into a dream!

Edward and Brian, YOU ARE AWESOME GUYS!!

I paid $180 for the first two hours (if it took less time, it's the full $180 still) and $45 every subsequent hour, travel included... no hidden fees, no cost for equipment, just the straight prices given to me... plus taxes, obviously!

I found them through this review site, and I hope someone else does too.

All seasons Movers Inc.
Right away Movers
was on the bill but the company name I called was different they held my stuff and said pay up $565 or we will not unload your stuff. Not impressed.
People be very careful, with small companys.
I have moved over 40 times and this was the move from hell. RIGHT AWAY MOVERS were late, unprofessional, originally overcharged, damaged goods, broke a window in the building, and stressed my husband out so much he did 75% of the move. It is not our problem u need more guys, it is not my problem ur truck broke down, it is not my problem it rained, it is not my problem u have to go up and down stairs ... thank goodness u will never be my problem again!!!!

Imove Canada is put me through hell on my moving day. If you don't believe how bad this company is just check them on the Better Business Bureau site. They have had 18 complaints and failed to respond to 17. The one they did respond to was not resolved. Andrew Ludzeneks (President) will call you repeatedly until the movers have your money in their hands and then he will NEVER return another call to you. You can tell what kind of a person he is by his post above exposing the person who wrote a complaint about his company. DO NOT call this company unless you want to end up in tears..........

I agree. He is exremely unprofessional. I did use them and they were awful. Too many things to even mention here. Would rather pack my belongings on my back than use them again.

Indeed, we are an international conglomerate of masons...running moving companies and review websites across the globe so we can remove bad reviews every time someone posts one.
A few men and a truck aside, people have posted a bad review about every single big moving company in Canada.
If everyone is such a scam, how do they stay in business?
I can answer that. It's because most people don't ask around or read reviews when they are looking for movers. They just call whoever up and of course you are very personable and friendly on the phone so we book you. Once we find out what terrible service you provide we don't use you again but..........there are thousands more people out there who have not heard about you and they are going to call you. You don't care about repeat business because really, how often do people move? Then you are on to your next victim that hasn't heard about you

Does anyone have any recent experiences with moving companies in Toronto? We're moving to Fredericton NB in September and need to find a mover.
Do not use Forte Movers. They say they are in Whitby, but then tell you they came from Toronto to add more money to the bill. They double the charge and make you pay cash before they will unload your stuff. They broke my desk and even though they charged me insurance, they hang up on me when I call to file a claim. Rude, horrible crooks!

My daughter recently called SMS movers to assist with a move out of Toronto. The day of the move, SMS did not show at the planned time, my daughter called and was given a few sob stories, then the person hung up.
My daughter again called but this time they never answered the call.
A friend who was with us at the time called from her phone and the call was answered, when she mentioned the nature of the call she received some vulgar remarks.

SMS is an Rude Unprofessional Company,

Emerald Movers is awesome. Used them 3 times... always great. Don't use Carlos movers. You'll pay a little more for Emerald, but they work fast and they do the job well.

Thank you so much Jessica!

ontrek movers are really the best movers in toronto!

I found them off your review posting and decided to try them out.

The move went perfectly smooth and the movers were great.

I was skeptical about booking movers again since our last experience with
"two men and truck" went so horribly wrong 3 years ago.

Again, thank you ontrek moving for such an great moving experience.

A+ Review for ontrek movers.

I would recommend this company to all my friends and colleagues and if anyone is here
is looking for reliable toronto movers, visit www.ontrekmoving.com

PS: Thanks jack for those extra wardrobe boxes, they really came in use!

Beware of 2 Small Men With a Heart. Their hourly rate is average or cheaper, but they took 9 HOURS to move a small bachelor apt around the block, my bill was $1200.- no couches, no beds, no appliances.
Things were also broken and missing. They kept disappearing, and staying in the back of the truck for ages, to take more time = more $$$. SCAM ARTISTS.

Skyline Movers and all of the moving companies that they are associated with, are big time fraud companies.
They destroyed my $1000 wardrobe and refuse to replace it.
Quoted prices were not legit and they would ask for more money than negotiated.

STAY AWAY

no matter what please stay away from RELOCATION SERVICES CANADA AND AMS TRANSPORTATION SERVICES INC.
Fraudulent practices as you get a quote from Relocation and they then give it to AMS who have a D rating on the better business bureau. After you give relocation your deposit they do this switch and AMS changes all the costs so you are left with paying over a $1000.00 more than the quote. They will hold your things for ransom. Just stay away

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to post my moving experience with a Toronto Moving Company.

When looking for movers, my husband and I searched through forums/kijiji/craigslist to find a reliable moving company.

I thought I would just call 5 companies and choose the most professional.

After speaking to 5 moving companies, we decided to go with
OnTrekMoving Ltd who had lots of good reviews online.

I have to say BEST CHOICE EVER!!!

OnTrek Movers are really Toronto's Best Movers.
Right from the start, the gentleman over the phone was great.
He explained all the charges associated with my move and sent me an written email estimate.
The movers arrived 15 minutes early to wrap all my belongings.

They were very professional and friendly.

The whole moved costed me $275+tax =$310 for the 3 hours of full service.

The funny thing is, they quoted me $325 for 4 hours, since it only took 3 hours, they knocked the bill down to $275.

Thank you OnTrek Moving for such an amazing experience.

You can be sure I will recommend you to everyone I know.

OnTrek Moving = Best Movers in Toronto

If anyone is looking for honest movers,

Or google: OnTrek Movers Review

Great company, Great guys, Great Service.
A+ REVIEW FOR ONTREK MOVING LTD.

Able Moving, Royal, Noble, Greenland, all have really bad review because they are all cheap. When trying to save up for a move never go with the cheapest quote, Every mover has problems with crew, damage, lost item etx etc. Some are just better than others but dont pay .80 or .90 lb to move.
