Isn't it funny how those who are writing and state Sumit never had the knife? Where sdid it come from? Everybody seems to forget Sumits already violent history using a knive during robbery He was just\sentenced to 90 ,more days in side for robbing and licing. He's had a history of doing this since 1999. I guess Judge Armstrong was so wront expecially when the Crown tried to get this same Judge replaced during Prelim hearings as he was the same judgewho precided over Sumit's case back then. What are you trying to soft soak the facts. Sumit and his cohorts have a wellknown history of knife use and this will all get sorted out in the wqsh. As I said before I'm done on here, cause as today I came to the conclusion that I felt the only one that had class in the plafker family was the sister but clearly I'm wrong cause she is indeed annonymous, so, you were never at trial so you don't much, Shawn wasn't lured into there stupid, the judge said, witnesses said they saw shawn chasing sumit, you obviously you weren't there stupid little girl so you don't know anything and for your point that Adrian was already there before Sumit got hit, how does that make any sense stupid? he's the one who took off with the weed! witnesses said he came after sumit was already hit. The insensitivity, hatred and evilness does indeed run in the plafker blood, stop making empty threats while you're at it little kid. please do not involve me in your little disputes about my brother and Sumit. I have read these posts but never replied because I think it is stupid and childish. It's funny how you can even breathe and say in the same breathe that Sumit did not have a knife???? Only one month before the Judge had sentenced to jail for robbing another with a knife. In 1999 he did the same to a so-called friend. He got caught twice but it was well-known in this violent city that Sumit Kapoor had use this same method of robbery over and over again. Shame he was only caught twice. Maybe if he was caught more than twice he would still be here with his family. Nobody knows how Shawn was feeling and thinking unless you have had the same thing G-d forbid happen to you. Commit a crime you get the outcomes whether good or bad. However committing and/or planning crimes onto other is the sin in the first place.

NEWMARKET -- An eyewitness to the death of Sumit Kapoor, who was run down by a car as he fled down a walkway, testified in Superior Court that he told police a "litany of lies" to protect himself.

Robert Sirju described how his close friend and "brother" Kapoor was hit and dragged 31 metres to his death on Oct. 27, 2005, after a botched drug ripoff.

"The car was coming towards me but avoided me and hit Sumit, and he disappeared and the car sped up," Sirju, 28, testified.

"I was yelling,'Stop,' when I threw the metal pole like a baseball bat and shattered the rear windshield," he said. "I saw him underneath the car and when it hit the curb, Sumit let go."

The Crown alleges that Shawn Plafker, 22, a York University student and petty marijuana dealer, murdered Kapoor after the victim and his friends, Sirju and Adrian Brown, tried to steal the pot he planned to sell to them.

Plafker has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder.

His lawyer, Darren Sederoff, said in his opening statement that the killing wasn't intentional "but a tragic accident."

The death, he said, resulted as a "panicked" Plafker drove off because he was under attack by an armed Sirju.

But Sirju admitted under cross-examination he told "a litany of lies" in his first statement to York Regional Police the day after the death, including saying that Plafker wielded the metal pole and chased him.

"I was scared for my life. I wasn't talking straight. I just saw my friend get murdered," testified Sirju, who said he was keeping watch and "didn't know" about the robbery plan.

"I didn't do anything wrong. The police kept asking me,'Did you have a pole?' He made me feel intimidated," Sirju said in explaining the eight lies he gave to cops.

"You lose somebody and you're going to be normal? I don't think so," Sirju said as Kapoor's father wept in court.

Sirju said he "came clean" in his Nov. 13, 2005, statement and admitted his role.

But Sirju denied Sederoff's accusation that he already had the metal pole out of his backpack when Plafker arrived.

Sirju said he carried a pole in his knapsack since being mugged six months earlier, but never reported the crime.
