After information saying that the devices have defects in one out of eight clients, the ASR XL Acetabular System and the ASR Hip Resurfacing System were withdrawn. There are about 93,000 recipients of these products worldwide. Johnson&Johnson should be more focused on its victimized patients concerns. Its subsidiary company, DePuy Orthopaedics Inc., needs to disseminate more information about defective hip replacement symptoms so that the patients would be given immediate medical attention. ..... It doesn't say which metal. Assuming that it was magnetic metal just imagine a scenario with two hip-replacement patients of opposite sex getting close to each other. Will then the magnetism of their hip-replacement metal cause strong-enough attraction or repulsion?[LAUGHS]

Good grief, do your research. The metal in MOM hips are chromium and cobalt. Thanks for the laugh though, regarding magnetic scenario!

It is very important to fire several questions about the pros and cons of the defective hip implants just to help a patient in deciding wether he will take the risk or not. Visit this site http://www.hiprecalllaw.com/ for more information about this topic.

Because of the growing evidences of hazardous complications caused by metal hip implants, the FDA held a two-day meeting with its assembled 18-member panel of medical experts to scrutinize the safety of the metal hip implants. Metal hip implants were actually advertised to last longer and more efficient than other hip implant devices. However, patients questioned its early wear which is causing patients to have higher levels of metal exposure caused by cobalt, chromium and other metallic substances. Because of this event, a large number of patients have decided to file lawsuit against its manufacturer, DePuy Orthopaedics, a subsidiary company of Johnson & Johnson.
