I think it is ridiculous that the police now a days publicly announce an alleged crime and feel the need to show pictures of a person and say he has sexually assaulted someone when this has yet to be proven. This poor mans career is now over and his reputation ruined all because of an "alleged" attack....which will probably end up being some prude stuck up model didnt get her way with something either having to pay too much or not liking the pictures or feedback so she decided to get attention this way.
This happens way too many times and it is disgusting.

I think it is very sad that this type of press is plastered everywhere!!! what happened to innocent until proven guilty... everything is alleged so why must the press ruin a person reputation... will the press be so quick to print a retraction should this be false... Yes if this photographer did infact commit the crime then yes he should indeed be punished... But come on... lets get the verdict firs... No matter what happens at this point you the Press have ruined a persons career!!!!!

I think we need to stop defending the accused and perhaps give this girl a little more credit. This type of allegation is a serious one, and if charges were brought, then there is for sure something more to this story than a model trying to get back at a photographer. I agree that publicly posting this is not totally fair, but that is to be expected especially in this industry. Don't judge this model before getting all the details. He has been suspected of other similar incidents, and I know this first hand. Get your facts straight before ripping apart the possible victim- the model.

If you have something to say to the police. Then say it. Otherwise, say nothing. Talk to the police if you have had a problem. Comments like yours are damaging unless you have proof.

Listen amelia.. wtf do u know?? i know the victim and was there with her at the hospital and police station. The reason this is released is so other girls will come forward. Why are you so fast to jump to conclusions that she is probably "some prude stuck up model didnt get her way with something". People like you are the reason girls dont come forward.

To Yeah,

I am not jumping to conclusions about this model, I am just simply stating that in the past this has happend where models have made things like this up for certain reasons and ruined innocent photographers careers for now reason.
I work in the industry and I know first hand how models can be...I have also worked with the accused and know a bunch of other models that have aswell and he has never been anything but completely respectful to myself aswell as the other girls.
I am not saying he didnt do it and I am not saying he did...All I am saying is that before publicly announcing this information and ruining a persons career and personality, they should have waited until the man was actually charged in the court.

I 100%agree with all your comments... and I feel for the girl who is claiming the alleged incident... and we must remember that is is ALLEGED!!!!!! if this photographer is indeed convicted then Yes he derserves everything he gets however it is unfair to convict him in the public before he is even proven guilty... The press can be disgusting and if this in untrue they have just ruined a man's career!!!
Models should always have someone with them... and to the person Yeah who is no mature enough to even put a name... your friend how many modelling jobs has she been too.... usually there is always a makeup artist or someone else on set... did she do her homework on where she was going... how did she meet this photograhper...?? yes I understand she is 21 but you always have to know your surroundings and if at any point during a shoot you feel uncomfortable you abandan that shoot and leave...

Kirsten,
What I was trying to say was. If you have first hand knowledge, as you say. Then you should talk to the police. Not here, where all you are doing is hurting his reputation with gossip.
I do feel however, if he did the things he is accused of, he deserves punishment. But he has not been convicted yet. Lets not convict here.

If you have first hand knowledge, this is not the place to discuss it. The police station is the place.

Listen all of you. You all have great points. I actually KNOW this guy. Maybe he did it maybe he didn't. I've modeled for him and been very happy with his behaviour. I know many other models with stand by him if he says there has been no wrong doing.

To Yeah.....
I'm not picking sides here. If something has happened to your friend I'm very sorry but this a close friend to many people that will stand by his character. She is going to have to stay very strong for the next few months to fight this case. I wish her good luck.

I also shot with him and found his behavior completely unacceptable. I could have pressed charges also but I didn't. Just because a model is not in physical danger or being raped, doesn't mean she is not being assaulted.
I also called the police after seeing this article to report my experience as well.

The model is a dear friend of mine, and I was devestated to know the details that she did share with me happened to her.
Its true that media can spin things, but i hope that more girls will come forward. For those who have had a "good" working relationship with this man, she did to. Doesn't mean anything now a days. The victims are the ones he knows he can get away with it. Im so proud she came forward..and im glad this will ruin his career. He deserves it.

To Brave One....news flash it hasn't ruined his career. He's still shooting. You know nothing about whats going on in his life right now other than your hate for him. Worry about your friends well being and not his.

Im not saying sleeping with models is right OR wrong. The horrible thing about this industry modeling/acting is that this happens all the time. I've been a part of it for many years. Sure photographers and directors try to get away with things and sometimes they even sleep with these girls. It happens.....

To model....he obviously didn't do something sooo horrible to you that you went to the police and hospital like the other girl. Did you leave or continue shooting with him once he made you feel uncomfortable? Learn to stick up for yourself don't wait for someone to have a voice for you.

I hate all this. If all the photographers and directors had to own up to what really goes on that would be a story to talk about.

another model.. how can you say "he obviously didnt do something soo horrible to you" i think it is very brave of her to come forward, and im sure a lot of other girls have too. I dont think it should be the victim ur wishing luck, i think doug is the one who needs the luck. Many girls have gone to the police before just havent pressed charges, but now that someone has actually came forward im sure a lot of other models are going to speak. And as for saying "it happends"..it shouldnt happen, there is this thing called consent, and if the person does not give it then its illegal and completely out of line.

If things like that happen in the industry im glad i don't do that for a living. Its disgusting what ppl would do to get fame. If actors/models what to sacrafice themselves to a pervet to get a head...guess they have no talent at all...well maybe being S**TS.

I am so disgusted that some of you claiming to be models are actually defending Doug?! Are you insane? Yeah he is a nice guy and I think he is fairly harmless, however sexual assault is NOT right even if a man does not force himself on you. To even say something sexual to a woman that is not welcome or to proposition a woman with no hint at all of her being interested is disgusting! I thought very highly of Doug until my experience and reading of all this. Also what kind of professional photographer gets practically drunk at his shoots? And encourages his model to drink? I have shot with many many professional photographers and I am sorry to say not ALL are like this. And I am glad girl's are speaking up because it is NOT right. And even if I don't press charges, ever single girl he crosses the line with it DOES affect his career. Word of mouth... And like another girl said, if there are models that will put up with sexual assault and unacceptable behavior just to get ahead in their careers, you are pathetic.
I happen to know for a FACT there are many models that become extremely successful on their beauty/talent/hard work and DONT need to bang photographers to try and get ahead... You are trying to compensate for the fact that you are not nearly as beautiful as the women who make it on their own. And unfortunitely for you (and Doug) he plays off these girl's naivety and can make almost any girl who takes off her clothes think she can be a superstar..

And the reason I bring up those facts is that is most likely what got Doug in this trouble in the first place......... Some models allowed him to cross the line.. the way he spoke to them, or who knows maybe actually getting physical with him. So now he thinks most female models are like this. So he thinks he can get away with it. And I hate to break it to alot of the models that shoot with him, he will even say to other models how some girls have no shot at being a professional model, yet he still will shoot practically any female who is willing to get half naked or (even beter naked) for him!

Sorry correction: Doug has said some of the girls he has shot have no chance at professional modeling. He has not said he will shoot any girl naked or half naked... but I believe he would. Sorry I don't want people to think I am mis-quoting him. I do like the guy, I just think some things are wrong and should not be done.

I didn't mean to offend all models. Yes there are plenty of photographers who don't cross the line and there are alot who do.

Brave one: This is not Doug you foolish girl. Do you think he's stupid enough to write stuff online that can be traced. Don't come on here and judge girls who sleep with photographers. Im sure you are no saint and since you aren't in the industry I would suggest you not make opinions about something you know NOTHING about.

Model: Every girl I know wishes they could have a professional shoot done clothed, topless, or even nude depending on the girl. I don't think he shoots regular girls just to get them naked, he does it because he likes shooting and understand every girl likes to feel a little glamorous sometimes. Telling them they won't ever be a top model is just being realistic not cruel. Not every photographer stops shooting for pleasure once they become a professional. As for the drinking....thats his life. You don't have to drink. Im sure he doesn't ram the bottle in girls mouths. You bad mouth him and say you like the guy and he treated you badly...if you like him why not take up your concerns with him instead of calling the police?

I just want everyone to know that I don't condone inapropriate behaviour. I just wish women would toughen up. You should never do something you don't want to do EVER! Don't wait till it gets too bad to walk away.(If walking away is an option) Everyone has rights including Doug. Stuff like this happens all the time and it doesn't end up in the news how dare the media pick who they think the bad guys are just cause its a little more interesting then the regular joe. As I write this I think to myself...None of us were there when it happened. Ranting about who's wrong isn't solving anything. I never ment to come on here to bash the victim or praise Doug but just to give a different insight into the situation.
