Mexico migration has been Going the other way, go figure ?
as Governor Declares State of Emergency in Oregon “I want to assure everyone that I am monitoring the conditions and will make sure all resources we have available will be offered to the communities that are being severely affected by this storm” "My priority is to ensure the safety of Oregonians by providing whatever resources they need to stay warm and dry and protect their property," said Governor Kulongoski... http://www.topix.net/state/or/2007/12/governo... |

Don't want or need any Mexicans here.
Go home, start a revolution, wipe out your gov't or something and tell them to put you to work. Don't need to give employers here any incentive to start to try to hump wages down to less than poverty level. The gov't is doing enough as it is with "deregulation, privatization and their own "revenue stream" Mexicans, go home. |

Starting to sound very American like with this post. We are in dire need of immigrants in this country and I think in the case of Mexicans, they come to work as do most immigrants. I feel more comfortable with Mexican workers than I do with the Islamic extremists but this is Canada and our doors are open to virtually everyone. We just have to learn how to ensure the freeloaders are sent home and newcomers abide by our laws and customs without circumventing them in an effort to please every segment of society. In Rome do as the Romans do, in Canada do as Canadians do. |
|
Please come and pick up our Mexicans we have about 12 Million of them...You are right about Islamic extremists. Most Canadians have their heads in the sand when it comes to them thinking it is an American problem. It is a world problem.
England is turning into a toilet. We have a problem with illegals here and we take offense to another language trying to take over. It will pop like a pimple one day Americans will only put up with so much shit for so long.. Anyways I would like a box of Beer and some NS Lobster for Christmas and some snow would be nice too .Thanks in advance |

Let them come, if first and foremost a Canadian is not available to fill the job, if the gov't guarantees that an employer will pay the GOING RATE for work, that he would pay a qualified Canadian, and that the workers are sent home when the economy dwindles. We don't need more "citizens" in this country if and when the economy takes a downturn. Take care of natural Canadians first, and guarantee their livelihood. If the gov't cannot ensure that, it's a problem we do not need. |

Si, Si! Amigo! Just like a legal temporary guest worker program. Address the job needs first. Then offer the jobs to Canadian's first with the prevelant wage. But first, they should be legal, registered, and documented. Have the duration of the work period clearly defined. At it's expiration, they go back to the country of origin. Enforcement is a must for success. Just like the American proposal that is currently being addressed. Adios, hombre Siloviki. |

But, amigo!! I may have a job with STA who is currently enroute to the Canadian gold fields to plunder your gold. He is riding his horse and leading a pack train with his little donkeys full of panning equipment. For every pound of gold that he gets from your revenue stream, he gives me a 1/2 ounce. When he finally leaves because of the snow, your government will give me 2 ounce for housing, food, and clothing until STA comes back again in the Spring. |

You hit the nail on the head with "enforcement". That seems to be a major problem in Canada where the immigration enforcement is seriously lacking. I would almost suspect that is also the case to a certain degree in the US. I think both countries want and need productive and civilized immigrants to fill our voids and to help our economic growth. However, once these people are here they should be monitored to ensure they remain viable and productive members of society and don't simply fall through the cracks. Likewise, employers should be monitored to ensure that immigrants are paid on the same scale as our citizens otherwise, our own commercial enterprise will undermine our own people by employing immigrant workers at substandard wages in preference to hiring our own. |
