With the trouble makers gone now (Kory and his other fake names), we can concentrate on what the topic was supposed to be about.

Thinking about a new family pet? Consider a rescue center rather than a pet store.

With that guy (korey) gone we can now think about animal welfare once again. avoid pet shops, many dogs need a home.

Originally the topic was focusing on a local pet store "Paws and Claws". The controversy was regarding the selling and breeding of animals in a retail location, which to many seems wrong when so many animals are now in a rescue situation.

Some people attempted to divert and derail the original subject, but it looks like continued reporting of abuse as thwarted their efforts.

Does anyone know if the protests are actually still going on these days? I am often at camp on the weekends, so I have not had the chance to be in that area.

How did kory get booted? glad hes gone. this can help progress the real issue....our four legged friends that get neglected. just a note, i went to the pound the other day, just to look, as i already have a few dogs and no room for any more, but wow, very sad, almoast took home two that have been there for over two years. couldnt imagine my little buddys locked in a cage for 2 yrs. no way for a fido to spend the day. on the other hand, the gentleman who cared for them seemed to try his best to look after and care for and excercise the dogs.

anyway, if your not busy, stop buy and take a look, its heart wrenching, and oh yeah, what happened to the k man?

I think Paws and Claws closed. Their website is now a spam/hijacker site...

http://www.companionkennels.org

And the main domain now forwards to ISaveDogs...

http://www.companionkennels.com

I am not sure what the new site is, maybe they are into rescuing now??

Odd.

Paws and Claws pet store is still open. The website companionkennels.org is the pet store owners "kennel" website which expired August 16 2009 according to that GoDaddy page. Guess they didn't renew it.

I highly doubt that. Rescuing costs money. Pet stores are all about making money.

Aha, then it was a good move on the part of the rescue site to grab up the name.

Here is something that is a bit ironic...

everything hes written has been removed since...as well. without him and his many other names, the topic con move forward without the bs and threats and stalking. now we can have one on one discussions about real issues instead of his crap.

he didnt. too many complaints to topix led them to remove the first 1100 threads, and then remove anything said by kory or anyone else posting from the same ip address. notice how many names were removed, all from the same address that kory posted from,in the last 60 posts alone! yet he claimed to never use any name but his own. he has been proven to have a minimum of 12 aliases. funny, sometimes he even argued with himself.

now that thats out there, lets get back on topic.

Yah, crazy - all because he was called on his fake name by someone with the same last name. Oh well, this topic should be about pets and pet stores, not one troll.

Does anyone know if all the court stuff is over now? Last I heard the pet store ppl failed to show, which is a statement in itself.

Much like baseball, the court system subscribes to the 3 strikes and your out rule.

Seeing that name again at first made me think.... oh sh$t, here we go again! But now I see it was just a joke, since the real troll had a registered name. I think topix banned him for life, so he will probably find another fishing hole. The guy was most definitely an agent of disinformation for the pet store side as another member first pointed out.

Are the weekend protest still going to happen?

yep, hes a grown man, with the thoughts and words of a mere boy. got himself blackballed due to utter stupidity and ignorance. he could post again from a friends house, but it would be veerry hard for me to believe he found a real live friend. lol now we can talkof the issues at hand, and laugh that he is a bad memory.

I actually went with my pooch 2 weeks in a row to help show my support. I couldnt stay long, but had about an hour to kill. No one was there either time so I left. I dont know if they are not protesting anymore, or if I went at the wrong time. The store was open, though no customers went in. Will gladly go again in the future, but im not going to stay if noone else is there.
