Nominations are still being accepted for the WBB ( worst Bishop of Buffalo award ) The problem is what should be given as a prize?

<quoted text>Castel Gandolfo does not belong to the pope. It is not his private property. your cottages, apartments, summer huts, etc are your private properties that you should sell and give money to the poor. you have big enough rectories to enjoy your private parties!
This is the best statement you have made so far that makes some sense. Now tell us who would have to make sure that this will be done if " consciense " fails.

They will all close .169 parishes and only 100 priests to cover them. Even that number is shrinking. Do the math.

Pastor announced from the pulpit today that Pope Francis won't allow any more church closings. Read a letter from the bishop saying the diocese is going to Plan B: parish administrators either religious, deacons or laypeople. What a welcome relief. He had to temper it a bit though with a cheap shot that in the future not all parishes will have their own pastor and based on our parish's history of how we treat our pastors it remains to be seen if we get a pastor of our own or not.

Most I know of are family properties. It seems as if a lot of people on this "forum" are condemning a lot of good priests based on a few bad ones. I won't say more about anonymous posters because I do recall bible passages about judging....

This is a step in the right direction. The priests will no longer have free reign over the monies of a parish. They will no longer live like princes. There will be a check and balance at each parish. If the priests will be thrown into a pool of Mass celebrators, they all better get new cars, they will be doing a lot of traveling doing more than one Mass per weekend. Bravo Pope Francis!!!!

There WAS a 7-paragraph letter from the Bishop in our bulletin today, but it contained no mention of the Holy Father forbidding further church closings. Where did Fr. hear this??

That is not correct. Some parishes will close in the future due to the financial and demographic problems. No question about it!

Did that pastor changed the wording like Fr. Seil did in reference to the closure of his school?
