You actually make some big-picture sense here! It makes sense for a Libertarian who, lacking a Libertarian office-holder to support, would choose to support a demonstrably ineffective Congressperson BECAUSE s/he is ineffective. When convinced that both parties are over-legislating, supporting a figurehead capable only of silly proposals (e.g., CFL issue) that have no chance of enactment is sound thinking, in a realpolitik way. The Founders would roll over in their graves if they knew that in America today, citizens sre forced from their homes because they cannot afford to pay the Confiscatory property taxes used to Feed teachers at the Public Troughs. Teachers in schools that have 20%+ failure rates.
