NB poverty numbers on the rise
#1 Oct 24, 2012
why are Poverty Numbers on the rise IN N.B.? Government doesn't help you unless you have money. The youth can't get jobs , there are no good jobs unless of course you are bilingual, seniors live in poverty because of lack of Government help , one example of this is ,you turn 60 years old , unfortunatley you loose your job , EI runs out you are forced to go on Assistance and you get $537 a month , but when you are 60 you are forced by Provincial Government to take your CPP early and by doing that the Feds cut back 30% of what you would receive on CPP benifits because you took it before 65 , then the Provincial Government claws back the amount you get fromm CPP so you don't get anymore than you would on assistance , example you get $236 from CPP ,the Provincial Government deducts $236 from the $537 you get from Assistance ,so you are no further ahead , and you live in Poverty . Now when on Assitance you are allowed to work and collect up to $150 , but that doesn't count when getting your CPP . The Feds get 30 % when you take CPP early and the Provincial Government deducts your Assitance payments , thank you Government you are a big help , I can't understand why Poverty numbers are high in N. B. DAHH !!
