Hello folks.

Being an avid fan of East Indian food and a regular at the fabulous Haweli, I noticed today going south on the trail that there is a new restaurant either opening or just opened called Nirvana. Any information on this would be welcome.
Thanks.

I too noticed the Nirvana restaurant and decided to give it a try.
After having their lunch buffet ($13.00), I must say that I will not be returning to Haweli again. The atmosphere was warm and the service very friendly. A good varity of dishes including Butter Chicken and Naan bread. There wasn't any dish that I did not like...and believe me I tried them all. Will definately be returning.

*Absolutely TERRIBLE- will never be returning*
We just returned from Nirvana- it was possibly the most bizzare restaurant experience I've endured in some time.

My family was seated - and the decore was rather stunning. We were anticipating a fantastic experience... However, when my wife went up for food she came back and everything on her plate was stone cold... I'm not even talking about warm in any fashion, absolutely cold.
So, we mentined it to the waitress who said she could heat it in the microwave in the kitchen...
So, we waited more than 10 minutes and asked where the food was, where she replied she forgot and went dashing to the rear to get it...
Finally, after eating the less than impressive re-heated food, we asked for our bill... And they couldn't get he debit machine to work...
I would be absolutely livid if I were the owner... I will never return to a place that cant keep warm food, as they will probably be shut down on their first restaurant inspection through alberta health...

Upon further looking into this restaurant I discovered that this is "Maurya Palace"

and checking out the health inspection site on Maurya place... The have had issues with their buffet heaters since last Oct (when it was discovered by Alberta Health), and have had 2 of the same infractions for hot food storage issues. Exactly the same as the one I experienced...

This is a blatant name change of a restaurant that is struggling to stay open without investing more money in fixing their equipment. I suggest a complete boycott of it unless you want to get extremely ill.

Terrible. I've been going to this restaurant on and off since it opened. Since it changed to Nirvana, the plates have been greasy, the food that should be hot is cool, the vegetables are of terrible quality, and the food that should be cold seems room temperature. I wonder why I have continued to go despite the decline...habit perhaps? Anyway, tonight was the last night, and I sincerely hope I don't get sick.
