5% raise for OPP officers
Police board members have lashed out at Queen's Park for giving OPP officers a 5% pay increase at a time when Ontario's public servants are supposed to be under a two-year wage freeze.

and they deserve it. Every day as they leave for work, after kissing their wife and kids goodbye, could be their last. They are out there protecting you and without the praise or thanks they deserve. The next time you see a police officer, why dont you walk up to them and thank them for the job they have chosen. One in which to keep us all safe. No one complains when other public sector jobs, for example - Ontario Hydro, people who are sitting behind a desk and pushing paper, making alot more than a police officer could hope for with only the risk of a paper cut.
Its time we give thanks for the job they do and see that they are compensated for it instead of complaining about it. I understand about the economic times as I am certainly effected by it also. It is during these times that we need law enforcement more than ever. Appreciate that.
