Curfew is a good idea

Solicitor General Harvey Cenaiko was musing about curfews this week after being asked about a weekend swarming attack by youth in Airdrie that left a 61-year-old man in critical condition.

Curfew is a good idea, but as long as it is the teens that are held accountable and not the parents, there are alot of parents that have done everything possible to install good values in their teens and why should the parents have to suffer consequences? The accountability should fall on the teens, what are parents suspossed to stay up all night long and watch to make sure their "teens" don't sneak out the window - been there done it - dragged our daughter back in - only for it to continue, too much blame always gets put on the parents.

Respect has to be earned. It's not surprising that some of the youngsters are going off the rails, the example set to them by many of the oldsters. There's a lack of moral values in a lot of older people, and a hell of a lot of greed and corruption in high places. Curfews won't solve any problems, just cause more resentment and widen the generation gap. What the kids really need is more good examples, and a few role models worthy to be looked up to. There's a lot of bored and angry kids out there.

I think that the curfew is bad... there has to be some other way to restrict bad teens. I have never done anything bad but still the curfew would restrict me as well as people who have done bad. I think that it is somewhat unfair to good teens

I have a term paper to write my opinion on this specific topic. As a 16 year-old, I do beleive that there should be a a curfew. Don't get me wrong, I like to stay out late as any other person does, but I find it hard to beleive that 12 year-olds have any business on the street at 1 AM. I'm not saying that we should enforce it to be at 10 PM either, but a sensible time. I also beleive it should be split into age categories. For example 10-12 year olds curfew is 10pm, while 16-17 is 12am or 1am, since they are more mature.

Im 12, an di dont ecen have a curfew, meaning i cant hang out. Im expected to come home right after school in Sacramento. I cant even walk! My mom picks me up, anways, im doing a report on Curfews for LA class.

Curfews are bad.. I don't think that it will solve something, it's jsut a other dumb way of solving things. Can't there be like a other way? And c'mon 2.00, who goes out and does drugs in the day light? A MORON maybe. But not a person with somewhat senses.
