Crystal meth being added to pot, ex-dealer says

CBC News Saskatchewan police can't confirm it, but a former Regina drug dealer says some of the marijuana on the streets has been laced with harder drugs like crystal meth and cocaine.

Really? that's really scary...an important issue that finally was brought to the table.
I had a discussion with 2 buddies of mine recently about this, and they said they've known about it too.
I was stunned. Why hasn't anyone warned others about it...its no wonder why so many are getting hooked on it.

me thinks some of y'all are missing the point here. Whether smoking pot is 'stupid' is irrelavant. Any consenting adult can make the personal choice to abuse any drug of there choice, whether its illegal (like weed, heroin, cocaine etc) or legal (boose, nicotine, pain killers, coffee...). Drug dealers are selling weed laced with highly addictive substances to unsuspecting people in order to hook them without their knowledge. Now if if we could grow our own, no need to worry about it...but thats another argument for another day. Take Care

This is a wonderful myth on so many levels. First off, call up a local police detachment and ask them how many samples of seized weed they have come up with that are laced...or ask health Canada how many of the seized marijuana samples they have received from police have been laced with meth. Well the answer will be zero and the "danger" has been entirely made up. This is not to say it doesn't happen at all, but certainly this is a rarity to say the very very least. so why do I still think this is a wonderful myth?

Let's say that just for the sake of argument, this is true. Cannabis everywhere is being laced with meth, crack, heroin and dish soap. Could this possibly be because the substance is not subject to any type of regulatory standards? When you hand the regulation of cannabis over to the black market, there is no regulation. By legalizing cannabis for adults, we ensure that it does not become a dangerous substance. When was the last time you heard about a bottle of whisky being laced with heroin or a cigarette being smothered in crack cocaine?

Well "boi"...wouldn't this be a good reason to legalize the stuff so's it could be regulated? When's the last time you heard about a bottle of whisky off the shelf being laced with meth?

The quality of spinach is regulated. Yet many people still got sick. Even if weed was ever regulated, you would still have sick twisted people lacing weed with other crap. It doesn't have to be a stranger, it could be legalized. There's too many messed up people in this world to think that weed isn't being laced.

Sure...and people can lace oranges with baby oil...but one thing's for sure, producers are compelled to ensure that this doesn't happen. Currently, producers of weed are not compelled to do anything. As I said, when's the last time you heard about a bottle of whisky off the shelf being laced with anything?

But of course, what we need is more people who can't control what they say or do because they are under the influence. We legalize weed and you have more drivers getting off on murder charges because they weren't in their right mind. Or more high school shootings because kids get paranoid that some kid is making fun of them. We really don't need to legalize anything else that's gonna encourage people to shrug off responsibilites and rules. You may not see whisky being laced with anything off the shelf, but you go to the bar and get date rape drug thrown in to your rye and coke, and bam, you're toast. There's still stupid irresponsible people that are going to do stupid irresponsible things even if your weed is legalized. I don't think that smoking weed is a sin, but come on, a person can't even enjoy a cigarette theses days, why weed?
